    Light on KYC and light on some aspects of DMCA - for example we are ok with PLEX or alike, torrent sites as long as they are not public.

    Technically DMCA isn’t law outside of the US.

    Practically, the european standard isn’t far off and a valid DMCA complaint is often enforcable in the EU as well.

    The EU has several copyright directives that each country has to enforce, therefore, what’s copyright infringement in the US is often also copyright infringement in the EU.

    However, countries in the EU interpret these differently and local enforcement can be weaker.

    That’s why companies in for example Romania but also in many other EU countries don’t take copyright as serious as in the US, but it dosen’t mean that they don’t have to.

    @host_c for sure already knows the above, hence why he also knows that he’s not free to not comply with copyright laws just because DMCA isn’t law in the EU.

    Sorry for the rant, just think it’s a very common misconception on LET that DMCA = copyright and that copyright infringement is legal in Romania (something my understanding is that Calin often hints towards).
