SES reaches in gmail and outlook inbox. that's why i prefer.
zeptomail is also good. but the inbox reaching rate is bit lower than SES mails.
    else its also good.

    Happy to hear that.

I thought ZeptoMail was better, but it seems I was mistaken.

From the internal data, zoho has better trust score. Can you suggest from which asn they send zepto mail? Or show an IP of zepto.

    Here in table,
    average_trust_score
ips_in_asn - number of ips in asn, some may be unused, or used for web or receiving mail
ips_measured - number of ips where reputation was measured (that send mail)

This is great! How is this data being collected?

I checked, ses sends from as14618. So good as well.

The as16509 of aws is probably for retail clients, so the reputation is low, below zero (maximum -100). I can provide reputation by netblock / single ip, but will be a long list.

It looks like if you buy ec2/lightsail, you will get IP from as16509.
as14618 is only for ses and their other services. If you have IP in as14618, will be good.

Amazon SES all the way without any problems, found various issues with Zoho ZeptoMail, as some of Zoho IPs are blacklisted + issue with delivery so instead of sorting out their mess, closed account.

In which databases they are blocked?

price is very high. you can quote 15$ per 100k emails at mailgun and sendgrid. SES charges 10$ per 100k (+ $ for attachments). Zoho charges 25$

  • @Gulf said: 15$ per 100k emails at mailgun

I think its 75$ on mailgun for 100K emails

You need to contact them and negotiate a lower price. If you send over 1m.
    Their manager will call you.
Several years ago, I negotiated 12$/100k for 20m per month, and 2 years contact. Need to pay 2500$ upfront every month. It is a good price if you send a lot of emails. But I did not apply for it.

Btw, mailgun is migrating from rackspace to aws.

  • How many emails are you thinking of sending?

The main problem with mailgun and sendgrid is their new owners. Mailgun is now owned by swedes? Both owners are crazy about KYC and emails you send. They charge you more than SES, but do not want you to send a lot of commercial emails :D What is the point of using them then...

    Now I use:
SES - for transactional emails, delivery is +/- good, random spam in gmail, but ok.
Out own infra - for commercial emails, I need full control over the delivery process. Dropped mailgun and sendgrid, moved to internal alternative and very happy (knock knock)

Theis scores are good, but it is overkill for transactional mail... ses is more than enough

  • Seems like SES is cheaper then ZeptoMail. I don’t see a reason to use Zepto over SES?

  • Neither if you want good deliverability.

Yup, I contacted them and got put on a PAYG plan which is considerably cheaper than their advertised pricing.

    50~100/DAY

  • @WebProject said: Amazon SES all the way without any problems

    SES with AS14618?

  • @EthanZou said:

    Cheapest... 10$ per 100k.

But Zoho reputation is good. They may be listed in marginal dbs.

If you have any problems with ZeptoMail, please share the IP / netblock to check.

    Mailgun

Sendgris is overpriced imho. Mailgun is the same.

Just checked, looks like Mailgun has moved from AWS here

    Inteliquent, inc.
    AS Number 40160
    Website http://inteliquent.com

Their parent company has bought Inteliquent. AWS & Rackspace are costly, + Rackspace focus has shifted, so they decided to combine their portfolio in one spot.

Yes, ZeptoMail works fine but 25$ per 100k.

Was this change pretty recent? Because our delivery with Mailgun has really gone to shit the last couple months, more than a few IPs that are spamcop/spamhaus listed.

Just the shared, not pushing crazy volume.

We're just on their shared/normal IP's for BuyVM/Namecrane's corporate sending. We've brought BuyVM onto our own relays and using that to help warm things up then we can start shifting some email around.

What the hell... and how much do you pay for this? 75$ for 100k emails? They are kidding.

It is a poor management. They do not vet new clients properly or put the free clients to the same ips as paid.

Swedes bought mailgun and looks like kicked previous team. Mailgun was mediocre but is now going downhill.

Imho, sending emails is not profitable or promising business. Twilio does not know what to do with SG as well.
Lol, ex Mailgun CEO now works part time there :D

    Something like that.

As I said the intention is to ditch it and start bringing this all inhouse.

I moved from Sendgrid/Mailgun to own infra. Never looked back. Very happy.

Now even free to choose the DC I want. Anywhere in the world.
From table above I choose the dcs with highest trust. Sometimes in exotic locations.

Sengrid asn is blocked in some databases/providers. These exotic dcs help to deliver there.

I estimate the cost of sending 100k mails about 0.5$ or even 0.05$ :D

Mailgun changes 75$ for the same volume.

But I use SES for transaction-only delivery, it is cheap and easy.
