If I say what I think I will have a thousand lawyers come after me.
then im fucked
speak your shit king
So maybe orders are terminated by oldest
I know what FOMO is and how is used. This KS-A is part of a FOMO marketing.
@OVH_APAC can you please clarify what's going on?
Found Elon.
I am what Elon hates.> @emgh said:
The silence is pretty bad.
Show me their ad that is marketed that way.
@OVH_APAC
Hello all,
we are fixing few issues in the ECO range and adding more servers soon especially in APAC region, https://eco.ovhcloud.com/asia/
Also, Just to confirm, the KS-A price was not a mistake but is already sold out. (this low price does not apply for datacenters in Asia-pacific).
For me is clear that this KS-A is a scheme. It's just my point of view.
Sure, that's your opinion, but that's not anything to do with FOMO. Sales and marketing has been around since the days of trade.
Are you old?
FOMO marketing would be more like advertising a band's final concert tour that will never happen again. Or advertising for Fyre Festival.
No surprise orders are being cancelled… this isn’t like previous cases where orders can eventually be fulfilled. It’s not like KS-2G where more parts can be bought, or a Black Friday special where more existing servers can be rebuilt to have some drive or ram upgrade.
Instead this is an old ‘Game’ line server being sold at bargain prices, and the 6700k was never used in anything else, so there is nowhere for additional stock to come from
I think the KS-A’s launch has something to do with OVH being 25yrs old in 2 months. Maybe this is one of the offers they’ve come up with to celebrate it.
I bought one, but order status is still preparing.
Can confirm this idea.
The KS-GAME line was available rarely than Xeon modells which were available in the past Black Friday offers.
KS-1 was a rare and popular server, I think that if OVH keep KS-A itt will be the same situation.
I hoppe that they will have a strong Kimsufi offer on the BF. KS-LE-1 2022 edition's strongest advantages are the big SSDs and it's price. I hoppe that they will give an unbeatable offer with NVMes > 1 TB and 300 Mbps or faster network... The past year's SYS-LE-1 was very strong for their price. It was 29.99 euros and offered a SYS-4-SSD with 2x1.92 TB NVMe drives. So my dream is a near same configuration with lower price and 300 Mbps network...
and who are you that you can “confirm” anything about OVH?
As you I am a member of this forum too. And I do not have more contact with OVH than I am a customer of them since a few years.
[But I can have ideas and I look the server availability API since more than an year so I have experience about server availabilities.](But I can have ideas and I look the server availability API since more than an year so I have experience about server availabilities.)
you cant confirm anyones opinion any more than i can. dont go around confirming things lmao
I can confirm this
not canceld yet
I had tried to buy the GAME-LE-1 in 2020 in bulk during the sale, and I remember that server got cancelled too. Funnily enough, that had a i7-6700k CPU as well. Now I have two cancellations from OVH for this CPU lmao.
I think this offer was a mistake from OVH's side, but they may not admit it to save face. This exact specs used to be a GAME-3 servers for about €45 from what I remember. Offering that for €5 with just lower bandwidth with no stipulation (like for new customers) or limit per customer, makes no sense to me.
//off topic
This is me giving free advise to OVH but they should have just re-advertised the KS-A as a 4-core Intel Special CPU and used a variety of CPU's to push the orders out like E3-1231v3 or E3-1245v5 and what not. But from what I heard from someone with a big MRC at OVH is that OVH's main office team mainly either has interns or veterans who've been working there since the mid-2010s. Anybody who starts to become good and helpful, ends up leaving OVH for greener pastures before they get close enough to kicking out one of the veterans. Veterans are usually profit driven, so they probably came to the conclusion at the end of this past week after a bunch of video conferences to just cancel all the orders quietly instead of actually brainstorming a solution that even slightly involved keeping the customers happy.
Another cancelation? How come they’re so incredibly slow even when not delivering
@Smith42 It’s quite clear that, internally, they’re clueless. They posted here that stock will be added etc. Someone posted a screenshot from support saying parts are delayed but orders will be processed.
Now, they’re just canceling a few orders at a time it seems.
Zero updates from @OVH_APAC either.
Honestly, I’d still be their client if I got this for €5, it’s a crazy good deal, but no wonder why Hetzner is vastly more popular here. OVH’s staff prove again and again how clueless they are.
It’s like they’re running their business based on guessing with zero data.
Will all orders get processed?
Will stock be added?
Why are orders delayed?
Should we send a notification explain why we cancel people’s orders to those who’ve been waiting for days when the advertised delivery was 24 h?
small dxck energy from @OVH_APAC rn
Yes
Just post ’sorry, massive backlog, we’re refunding everyone’ if that’s what’s going on
It’s not that hard
Hi, just today paid 2 KS2 with 450 SSD and 1540 Xeon.
Do you think i have a chance of it being delivered?
Those were the previous SoYouStart "entry level" dedicated servers, I don't see why they would not delivered them.
Thanks for answering.
Can You tell me if You remember their price?
$21 for them is good?
They were 25 euro plus VAT I think.
