100 mbit upload makes any offer DOA even for simple personal mail server. I wish there would be an option to pay for better uplink.

    100Mbps for a mail server?

With ovh network its probably closer to 20 mbit. Couple users and its gone if You get emails with any attachments.

I hope you're trolling. OVH network is pretty good, compared to other providers here. Even so, unless you send millions of emails in a day, 100mbit is plenty plenty for mails and more.

OVH network is good? It was back in the days. Now days even hetzner have better network than OVH. Unless You are paying for dedicated OVH uplinks - those are still the only one that are nice but completely out of reach for LET budgets.

ovh network is great lmfao what are you talking about

    Example: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/3531911/#Comment_3531911

When is was testing iperf results were offten below even 20 mbit. There is more benchmarks on this forum of OVH products. It's not like my is anomaly. It's quite common.

Don't lose your sleep for a server at €5/month. It is just a server. Your time and your sanity are worth way more than that. Let the scalpers have their servers and abuse the whole OVH to its oblivion if they want to; your time in your life is more important than all that.

Scalpers will come again in future (on Black Friday, on Christmas, on New Year, on Easter), but your happiness is way more valuable than some cheap offers exploited automatically.

    Yeah

If you don’t need dedicated cores or 64 GB RAM, there’s some good offers that one can grab right now for the same price. Such as prohosting24 EPYC deal

Benchmark was testing it globally. I was testing connection from Poland. And it was shit. From 2 different fibers that routes went directly to ovh without any stupid jumps in peering.

Thank you for the yabs and the above info. While the disk is so old that it has just exited its warranty period, those Intel DC SSD's are proper beasts and it could work properly for many years more, no problem at all. But... check how much has it been used, cells spent... this means much more in the enterprise world. I've heard that those Intel DC SSD outright refuse to write when they reach 100% to "protect customer data".

Do smartcl -x /dev/sdx and look for something like:

    0x07 0x008 1 96 --- Percentage Used Endurance Indicator

    or similar...

I checked a few hours ago and found that although one hard drive had written more than 1PB of data, its health was still 95%+.

Just be careful to interpret results correctly, 1PB is a lot. I checked quickly and mentioned DC P3520 model seems to have 1095 TBW endurance rating. That's slightly more than 1PB. Is it possible that it is 95% used, meaning only about 5% life left?

37.5TB written is nothing indeed. the 1PB you mentioned is data units read - this isn't an issue at all, as reads won't wear down the cells (no high voltage to damage the isolation layer). thanks for sharing the full data, these SSDs have a lot of lifetime ahead I would say
