    You’re serious??😆

  • which is more powerful, KS-1 or KS-4?
    Guessing, atoms won't come back?

  • Can we get some s.m.a.r.t data from those who received a server already? Specifically looking for power on hours, data written, wear level ;-)

I am but I know no one will transfer one , I wanted to play around with Kubernetes and this seems like perfect for it

Lots of people haven’t gotten their servers yet. That’s probably why.

I'm actually surprised at OVH offering even more powerful Kimsufi servers without any price increases doesn't make any sense. Unless these components are used and old recycled parts?

these specs maybe 8-10 years old

So hardware components won't be working effectively once delivered. It's make me believe that this isn't that good of a deal as people may think.

Is it fomo speaking? Where in the world can you get a system with 64gb ddr4 and a semi decent processor, fully dedicated for less than 2 cups of coffee a month?

It's a standard cycle to push systems down from the high end brands to low end ones.

I have had multiple instances where the support had fixed problem systems in less than 24 hours notice.

Plus many times I have received brand new disks enhancing longevity.

If you have doubts, sure, skip this provider. I am sure others will be glad to land on this in a heart beat.

There is any working "availability checker" tool for OVH / Kimsufi servers at the moment? (with email or other notifications). What I used previously, looks like doesn't work anymore. :/

Likely to slow, if there is a public tracker available.
Since the new API, you can purchase servers within like 2 seconds.

Probably going to be very hard to get one if they restock.
You have to be very fast.

You can read OVH APi documents then ask ChatGPT to write the stuff that automatic fetch and buy the server
Look like all the bot is prepare so the chance of get alert in time you free and get one is thin like win a lottery

  • I will pay $50 for someone to transfer me a server.

    Okami

  • Is it legal to scrape the availabilities of these servers and publish the result?
I made a solution and I'd like to host it but I do not want conflict with OVH...

It's public and does not require authentication

    UPDATE :

In an earlier post i displayed info on OVHcloud's 1st response in our ticket on questions/queries for KS-A / KS-1 type Kimsufi series servers.

OVHcloud sent us a 2nd response in ticket, & CORRECTED their initial/1st response , that their earlier mentioned features were actually not for KS-A / KS-1 type Kimsufi series servers , ( while quick answering they did not notice that questions were for Kimsufi KS-A / KS-1 servers ).

OVHcloud clarified to us in 2nd response:

    KIMSUFI series servers KS-A / KS-1 etc:
cannot have any additional IPv4-address later.
cannot have any additional IPv6-address later.
IPMI KVM is not available on Kimsufi servers.
ISO over IPMI is not available on Kimsufi servers.
VNC access not available on Kimsufi servers.

And how ISO will be loaded & accessed in kimsufi series servers , remained unanswered.

IPv6 will be officially available in vRack series servers at the end of 2025.
But as beta test, its available in vRack series servers.

EPYC 7351P (KS-6) for 39 euro is also quite nice :)

But Port Speed 300mb is :disappointed:

  • If anyone interested, emailed ovh, for current kimsufi server, 100mbps limit cannot be upgrade to 300mbps...only possible if you purchase a new server :s

Seems to contradict https://eco.ovhcloud.com/en-ie/compare/ where it suggests Kimsufi can have up to an extra 128 addresses (max 16 slots)

  • THANKS , @JamesOakley.
Specs & users were posting/displaying conflicting messages on what resources are included/unincluded , that is why i asked over ticket # 447865,
and OVHcloud's cloud-support-agent also over 2 responses provided more conflicting info.
But in his 2nd response, i'm sure he went thru their side current policies for sure (on Kimsufi series, atleast for Asia & Europe) , so i believe thats what they currently apply.

One of my colleague used 1 OVH (kimsufi) dedi ... 4 or 5 years earlier , for about a month ... also had bad experience ... with billing & customer support ... fast response but conflicting & unfair.

  • The other conflicting thing is that the compare page says IPMI over IP is "optional" for KS, but https://eco.ovhcloud.com/en-ie/kimsufi/ says "included".

    Thanked by 2atErik emgh
  • I'm waiting for someone to transfer it to me for $50.

Consistency and a working website was never part of OVH’s offerings
