LookingGlass Project

HosteroidHosteroid Member, Patron Provider

Hello everyone,
I am working on a small project for a Looking glass, if anyone is going to be interested probably at the end of the project I will release it on Github, currently I am still working on UI which is going a bit slowly, so I wanted to know what do you think about design and if there are any suggestions on any changes?

All text are just place holders nothing is coded yet! So comment only UI :)

I like it, will it have dark/night mode?

  • Visualizing the traceroute path in the map would be cool. Like https://geotraceroute.com/

I think the project is excellent. Is there a way to integrate it into the website using .html (emded)?

Most of them are very old and not up to date, anyways most of them have things missing that I want to have on mine :)

It will be able to be integrated in whmcs templates using php actually

Why do they need to be updated? What is missing?

I do not like their design and it is complicated to integrate them into whmcs templates.

    Looking clean!

From a security perspective, make sure to sanitize all the user Input fields to prevent any RCE or any other exploits

  • HosteroidHosteroid Member, Patron Provider

Just an update, map and dropbox are loading locations from an json file, if you click on map pin it automatically changes dropbox location for commands to be executed.. once its done plan is just to edit json file with necessary details and everything will be populated automatically on main lookingglass page:

it would be very useful to also keep a command history of everything every visitor types

  • HosteroidHosteroid Member, Patron Provider

Well not really, it will keep only on local user last few commands nothing on every user on server side

    New progress update:
    1. Locations are populated depending on settings configured, either Alphabetic or by list how did you add locations in config file
    2. Commands can be disabled or enabled by config file, disabled ones will be hidden.
    3. History function is keeping last 5 executed commands in history tab, there is also delete button to clear one of the selected records, or on top right corner button to remove them all.
    4. On command execute active session tab is showing output from looking glass server.

Here are some screenshots so far, I think soon Ill setup an demo preview:

  • I think that due to the existence of a tool like host-tracker, you need to add more added value to the project.
