Yeah. I usually like not upgrading and instead installing the new version from scratch.
However, if you do a clean install of 22.04, with no added sources or anything like that, just upgrading to 24.04 should be a piece of cake.
We'll be launching Ubuntu 24.04.1 templates tomorrow

Sometimes in the past (not always), a minor-version update of an LTS major version would introduce a kernel update that you would automatically get if you did a fresh/new installation of the minor-version update but not if you did an in-place upgrade from the previous minor version

I see, nowadays, if I install 22.04 LTS, fresh install, and upgrade to to 24.04 LTS, and while doing so, accept all changes from the repo maintainers, will there be any difference compared to if I installed 24.04 LTS from ISO? I guess maybe some unused config files etc, nothing else?

The scenario that I mentioned with respect to a kernel upgrade was (e.g.) an in-place upgrade from 22.04.1 to 22.04.2 versus a fresh install of 22.04.2
But as I said, this isn't/wasn't always the case and (historically) probably is/was the exception
There were times when a significant kernel upgrade appeared during an LTS cycle and this -- a fresh install of the new minor version -- was a way to take advantage of it, but Ubuntu didn't want to risk possible regressions on existing LTS installations, so existing LTS installations didn't automatically receive the kernel upgrade

snap is like windows for linux.
Forced updates, except you firewall it.
Even if you use the app, it just restarts at some point, to apply the update anyway.
No non snap packages anymore directly from Ubuntu, have to use 3rd party sources.
And it costs you performance, some benchmarks up to 20%.
Not to mention, the fuckery that can happen if you hot reload your app due to an update with snap and you integrate support for that wrongly.
