Anyone reviewed Digitalocean DDoS protection?

edited August 2024 in Reviews

Hello there, I am new to here.
I am currently using Linode to host minecraft servers, But will expires in next month, And I am happy to try something new.
However as public advertised server, DDoS is expected. Meanwhile I want to know about CPU performance differences, Because DO mainly uses Intel, While Linode uses AMD.

Few things I wish to know:
Does Digitalocean firewall able to block UDP in router level, Completely block it from my machine? UDP DDoS usually bigger than TCP.
Digitalocean nullroute threshold. I can suffer packet loss but being nullrouted is bad.
Digitalocean premium CPU performance compared to AMD EPYC Milan.

  • Try https://tcpshield.com/ if your server isn't too big.

  • I don't know about minecraft servers but if you can install it from scratch, as DDOS protection so far I can recommend Kamatera. I have a server with them in Israel and man it can take some 'punches'.

  • or just go with Vultr. They have pretty good DDos protection.
