West Coast (CA or WA, USA) VPS with 1Gbps 10TB+ Bandwidth

Looking for a cost effective site to site VPN relay node.

Must be on the west coast (ideally LA, SF, or southern Washington).

1-5Gbps unmetered preferred but ~10TB usage per month would be more than sufficient.

Will be used as a WireGuard site to site VPN node to work around some peering issues with NTT; must have a looking glass portal to verify peering routers and would like to see the primary connection not utilize NTT. No torrent or other sketchy traffic, strictly a site to site relay node

Happy to explore monthly or annual options.

Hardware specs are very flexible:
4+ vCPUs
6+ GB Memory
40+ GB SSD/NVMe boot disk
Nothing fancy needed.

I think a vps from @MikeA would be your best option. They use Reliablesite for their Los Angeles location and ReliableSite does not use NTT.

OVH Oregon may be a good option too. They have NTT but not primary.

  • Thank @concept for the rec; I’ll take a look at OVH but I’ve had some less than good experiences with them previously.

@MikeA - let me know if you have anything that meets these needs!

6GB RAM is around $20/m here. I guess it depends on your price point. If it's a site to site VPN it's fine (i.e. not public access), I don't allow public/commercial VPN use though due to the peak bandwidth used by them. You can check routing with the IP here. If you expect to max out the port like pushing 700-1Gbps+ often then OVH is a better choice since they don't care about that.

    Hello,

I can offer you the below in Spokane, WA

4 amd ryzen 7950x shared cores
    6gb ddr5 ram
    50gb nvme
    20tb bandwidth on 10Gbit
    1 IPv4 + /64 IPv6
    5 free backups
    $14.99/monthly

    Looking glass available at https://spk-lg.layer.ae/

  • @rsk - Thanks for the offer, solid price, but it looks like you're reselling/hosting with CrunchBits, thus peering with NTT. While a great provide, one I am actually using myself, routing from San Francisco to Spokane (ATT -> NTT -> Crunch) has crazy congestion, sometimes as low 30Mbps; that's the peering issue I am trying to work around

  • @MikeA - Thanks, this looks good. Yup, just a personal site-to-site for some backup traffic, majority of the traffic will be from 1am to 8am with an average of ~1TB/month but some spike for initial seeds, etc. I'll spin up an instance to try it out, thanks!

  • Here are some other options.

@GTHost has vps in Los Angeles, Seattle and Santa Clara. They do not have NTT, only GTT & Cogent.
    GTHost LG: https://gthost.com/looking-glass

@Clouvider has vps in Los Angeles. They do not have NTT either.

    Thanks for the mention @concept
OP for unmetered we are however in a dedicated server territory. We are supplying many major VPN providers.
