Looking for Alot of Cheap HDD Storage

I'm looking for a hosting provider that offers affordable HDD storage, ideally around 100-150TB, spread across multiple smaller VMs rather than a single machine. I also require substantial bandwidth and am willing to pay for it. And while private networking between the VMs would be a plus, it's not a strict requirement. If anyone knows of a host that meets my requirements, I'd appreciate your recommendations.

  • @Calin is your choice sir

  • I tried out iHostArt and their services are pretty sweet, the only reason I chose not to go with them is the uptime. They unfortunately keep getting DDOS'ed, making me unable to connect to the VMs.

I also should have added that I need the VMs to be in EU (Or surrounding regions) so that rules out crunchbits sadly.

Host-C is my top pick right now, but I'm still exploring other options incase I missed something.

Maybe try if @layer7 can do anything custom?

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll look into them, but just from a glance their bandwidth prices seem super high at around 0.84 EUR per TB. But maybe I could get a discount if I buy bulk?

    Hi,

    thanks for mention @BruhGamer12

The only number i see there is 100 - 150 TB space ( i assume netto space after redundancy?! ).

Aside of that i dont see numbers about CPU, RAM, portspeed or bandwidth.

Is there a specific reason you want this to be spread across multiple sources ( VM's or what ever )?

If you could give a bit more technical information, then i would be able to make some special offers. I am open open for something dirty :-)

Aside of that i am a bit confused....

A traffic price of 0.84 EUR per TB is, by the way, considering things like DDOS protection, 0 commitment and so on, actually not a high price...

So i dont understand how this part of your search:

    • refer to a service that is "pretty sweet" but actually
    • "unable to connect" while you are
    • "willing to pay for it"

    does fit together. ;-)

Do you want it working and solid and pay for it? Or is a service "pretty sweet" for you, if you cant use it -- but also pay less for it?

Anyway, if you give us here more precise specs/requirement, we as providers will be able and happy to give you pricings :-)

We can do it - shoot me a PM if you'd like. Spread between Sofia and Nuremberg, both on great networks.

    Hi,

The reason why the only number I have mentioned is storage space is because CPU and RAM don't matter much.

I want it spread across multiple VMs since I can get a 10-15TB VM when I need it and gradually scale up to 150 TB. As for port speed, I would need around 1Gbps and around 40-50TB Bandwidth per VM. I'm fine with 2-4 vCPU cores (I just need parallel processing), and around 4GB RAM.

As for traffic I probably won't need DDOS protection at all since my services are always behind Cloudflare. If you have a firewall, we could just block all other IPs other than Cloudflare and my own IP. I understand if this is something that isn't possible.

When I said their services are pretty sweet, I meant that I would use them if they didn't get DDOS'd all the time. For the price they offered, I didn't expect much and it exceeded my expectations. That's what I meant by "pretty sweet".

    Hi,

thank you for clarification and your numbers.

I just checked our shop and i could give you the following ramp-up pricing:

    2x CPU ( Intel ) as VDS ( dedicated cores )
    8 GB RAM
    80 GB NVMe ( N+1 redundancy )
    10 TB HDD ( N+1 redundancy )
1G line incl. 50 TB traffic
    1x IPv4/IPv6

    0-5 servers:

price per month: 19,90 EUR / month

    6-10x:

price per month: 16,90 EUR / month

    11-20x:

price per month: 14,90 EUR / month

Location could be france or germany, prices without VAT.

There is one major downside on this pricing:

Its basically a promotion right now to fill over-capacities at HDD diskspace. The pricing will be available as long as the over-capacities are not reduced until a certain amount of space.

So that means that this pricing might not be available anymore in 3 months ( or tomorrow if someone will buy straight 500 TB or so ).

Maybe someone will buy 1 PB and we will need anyway to extend resources and then it might be still available in 6 months or what ever.

The point is: You have the pricing guaranteed now. ( In worst case 14,90 EUR from the perspective of the provider ). The pricing of 19,90 EUR you could most probably have always. Its in general "just" a 10% discount from our regular pricing anyway.

But the fun discounts down to 14,90 EUR might ( and will ) not be available always.

So i just wanted to point out this clear and transparent, before we run into any kind of questions / issues later. Its your decision if this fits your needs and is OK for you, or not.

Your offer is pretty solid. But that amount of RAM and NVMe space is overkill for me. 4 GB of RAM and around 25 GB NVMe storage is all I need.

    Hi,

makes no difference for us if you take 4 or 8 GB or what ever.

I simply used a plan that is existing so it could be reused for you.

If you want to take less, its more manual work for me, resulting in a higher price actually.

Thats why i did not hit the mark exactly of your request.

Ah makes sense, no worries that's fine by me. This is a solid offer and probably the cheapest I have right now. Let me think about it for a bit and I'll get back to you on that.

    Hi,

no worry. I will feel bound to it for at least 7 days for you.

Maybe other providers will show up and have something better, who knows. So you can decide at the end of the coming week or when ever.

A lot of Cheap HDD Storage ... spread across multiple smaller VMs

Check these. There is a range of storage VPS plans from

    to

I also require substantial bandwidth and am willing to pay for it.

The unlimited bandwidth option at 250 Mbit is available on all offers at no extra charge.
The speed will grow daily, so the longer you keep the VPS, the higher your speed will be.

    ideally around 100-150TB

Quite likely they will also be able to come up with some custom plan(-s) for this request.

    P.S.
If you like the idea of daily increasing, they have 6 offers with unlimited disk space growth.
E.g. here's the most affordable one:

See the rest yourself. The largest plan gets additional 15 GB of space each day.

Hi, those probably won't work for me since I need a 1Gbps from the start. I can't and won't wait over three years to get a 1Gbps port.

    Contact us at [email protected].
We have a ton of locations we can do this in, but probably more suitable for a custom quote situation after we iron out exact needs and locations.
We can do better deals on bandwidth this way, as have over-capacity in some locations we can give deals on.

Quite likely he'll be able to come up with some custom offer for your requirements.
