Looking for colocation in London Docklands/Canary Wharf

I'm looking for rack space in the Docklands area in London.
I have of course googled this and have found numerous Data Centres in the area, but pricing is not published, and all seem to want you to "get a quote".
I'm guessing that there's got to be a few LETers who are familiar with the market in this location. If so, maybe someone is willing to share some basic info?
Looking for general info on prices for rack space, power and bandwidth. Also on quality of service (customer support, access to the DC etc.)
Any feedback appreciated.
Thanks!

Telehouse and Equinix both have facilities in the area. Facilities are good. Access is a problem at both of them (limited parking, and in Telehouse case - lack of permanent badges).
Both have excellent availability of carriers.
With Telehouse you want newer facilities - the older one are notorious for cooling issues on a rare occasion UK has a summer.
As for prices - we are not in position to share, please reach out direct.
I'm familiar with both Telehouse and Equinix. Though my experience with Telehouse is from some 15yrs ago and and Equinix in HK....
Not sure what you mean by access being a problem.... Aside from parking, is it a problem to be able to just show up at more or less any time to do some work? Be it install, remove or repair some hardware?
So cooling in the old part of Telehouse kindof sucks? The new part is ok? 7KVA power limit per rack? Anyone bill by actual power usage or only by power allowance?
@Hypere
Parking is an absolute nightmare. You need to raise a access request (more like notification) to gain access.
It takes a long time. If time is not a problem, then sure, other than car park - no problem with access ;-).
Judging by the recurrent use of external chillers I would say likely still did last year, at least in the old North building as that's what I see when I go there. You'd ned to ask somebody that has cabinets in this part of the campus, we are in North 2.
I can't say what's the limit these days on the new space. Power allowance is pretty standard, but I suppose you can always negotiate something.
Be mindful London is a premium market, space is scarce and that impacts both pricing and the conditions offered.
How long is long? I mean... let's say I have some emergency problem and happened to be next door having lunch. If I would be physically right outside the door, and then send them a request to enter, could I reasonably expect to get access pretty quick?
The docklands are a place of relatively easy access for me. Hence the reason for my interest. As for the price, I suppose I'm hoping it would be cheaper than Hong Kong.
Depends on many factors. All in all, with parking the car and getting the badge, if they "loose" my biometrics, or insist I've never been on site, depending on the guard and their experience, and their attitude, could be an hour. Could be 10 minutes also.
Could be your emergency is right before midnight and the guard may tell you that he may or may not do you a favour of having your badge expire past midnight, you are left to guess if the badge will work to leave the room as the midnight strikes ;]. All that Jazz.
It's a great campus. Excellent connectivity. There's a reason we're there.
But they really, really, really are an outlier in the market with the access issues.
There's a very simple solution with just giving people a permanent badge, which would both reduce the queue of the regulars daily and improve the overall service, but it doesn't feel like when you talk with them this point is getting a cross (at all) and they are really not responsive to this feedback (for years).
The beauty of it is because of all that connectivity, they can get away with it as it sells anyway, which is why I guess, no improvement for years.
Your expectations are set right I suppose
.
@Clouvider, how good is your connectivity to Hyperoptic broadband customers? Would a Hyperoptic user in Canary Wharf have decent latency (you know.. like 2ms) to your pop in the area?
We are in Equinix LD8 and the only complaint we have aside from pricing, is that they limit the weight that each cabinet can hold.
They limit the weight? That's crazy. Is that some new method of trying to reduce density? Limit your power, limit your weight... what's next? Limit for maximum size for each device and allow for minimum space between devices?
From what we heard (not 100% confirmed), the building used to be an office so the floors can only hold so much weight.
Aye, Harbour Exchange Square is an office complex. Equinix bought this site as part of Telecity acquisition.
I'm not too sure if Telehouse doesn't have similar limit somewhere in the contract. Would need to find it.
PM me a pingable IP and I'll let you know
.
Zare is good people.

Alas, I dont have that Hyperopytic connection just yet. That will come Tuesday. But will PM you when it comes. Thanks!
If you're in London we should share a few pints
I am now, and will be back regularly for at least until the end of the year.
If you’re still in need of London space shoot me a dm and I can share some baseline pricing I have from different DCs.
London is a weird place for DCs right now, if you want cheap power and space you need to look outside the metro region where connectivity becomes the major cost factor for smaller scale deploys. If you want good connectivity then you gotta join the Docklands squad and enjoy being shafted by LD8 or Telehouse
