List of providers for high server load
There are many providers with well-priced offers
But few of them allow an average CPU load of 50 - 70%
I'm looking to replace a dedicated server in the next few weeks (CI Build server / CPU inference)
So I started compiling a list of providers (with locations in Europe) who offer virtual servers and who are clear about their CPU usage policy for this type of workload
I have noted:
- Hetzner (Dedicated vCPU line)
- Layer7 (VDS line)
- Netcup (rootserver)
- Avoro (rootserver)
- CherryServers (dedicated resources)
So many German providers in this list ![]()
Do you know of any others that offer products at good prices?

Why would one choose a vps instead of a dedicated server if your needs require good performance?
If you are thinking about a dedicated server, we can offer this for you!
Ryzen 5 3600 (6c/12t)
32 GB DDR4
1 TB NVMe
1Gbit port (fair use bandwidth) + 5 IPv4 included
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
€70/month
Just PM me, if you are interested.
need to be only EU location?
Many servers in this price range have old hardware and it is often possible to get better performance from VPS packages with recent hypervisors.
What's more, in the event of problems it's easier to migrate the virtual machine to another host.
And it is often possible to have a faster connection port. (Like 2 / 5 / 10 Gbps)
The only advantage I can see with dedicated server is that you get a lot of storage for cheap and the guarantee that you'll actually have the resources you buy.
Yes, unfortunately.
I find a lot of good deals in the United States, where electricity is cheaper.
But I prefer a server in Europe.
https://panel.ihostart.com/index.php?rp=/store/vps-kvm-ssd all VPSs have dedicated CPUs , we it's possible usage 24/7 , lot of peoples make at us mining or other similar things with any problem
Regards,
calin
depends on the use case
8 vCore Ryzen 7950 could be better suited in many use cases.
Thank you, it's a little over budget
I have a budget of 40€ per month, or even under 30€ if possible
That's also why I'm considering virtual servers
I only need one IPv4
Avoro @dataforest VDS will be best value
My vote for Layer 7. No contract bs, decent service and support.
Edit: what about @Advin ? They had VDS line up before, I can't find it now.
Yes Agree, Strato.de is also good
I don’t think there is any contract drama with avoro prepaid.
Having said that Layer7 is an excellent option as well
Thanks, I'm interested in their ryzen range.
Out of stock at the moment but it's not urgent, it can wait a few weeks.
I was mainly looking to see if I'd taken all the possible options into account. The list I've given seems fairly exhaustive
@AlbaHost (all his VPS/VDS line has dedicated Ryzen cores)
@Hosteroid dedicated CPU cores too (Xeon)
@tentor FUP very clear in their website (Xeon Silver)
Honestly there's more providers I could recommend too, but the lack of explicit FUP values just makes me discard them.
HostHatch: Amsterdam, Stockholm, Olso, Zurich -> https://hosthatch.com/products

Almost 5 years
PHP-friends.de: DE -> https://php-friends.de/vserver-ssd

Today 4 years with them
GreenCloudVPS: VDS in DE / UK -> https://greencloudvps.com/billing/store/epyc-nvme-kvm-vds
LiteServer: NL -> https://liteserver.nl/virtual-dedicated-servers/
I've never used strato's services.
As far as I can remember, I didn't find their CPU usage policy very clear.
The CPU model is not mentioned, and their range with dedicated resources seemed rather expensive to me
Unfortunately, as of now we only have Xeon Silver, no Gold
sorry typo
Are there any specific specs you are looking for?

Strato is ionos afaik. If you don’t know what are you doing, better is to avoid ionos like plague…
If I can get a seven day trial VDS and I will share my benchmark tests and feedback.
Just based on your pricing structure and coupon first month coupon drama …. Not Recommended
PS - IPv4 cost is extra. Such marketing gimmicks are not helpful in building reputation
cpu kind is missing. The most important thing for VDS.
Thank you for your feedback. I can provide you with a 3-day free trial so you can test our services and share your benchmark tests and feedback. Please register and send me a private message to set it up.
Regarding the coupon, our prices are already very competitive, and offering a recurring discount isn't sustainable for us. We aim to provide high-quality service at an affordable rate for all our customers.
As for the IPv4 cost, we made it an extra because many clients preferred a cheaper IPv6-only option. This allows us to offer more flexibility and cost savings to those who don't need IPv4 addresses.
You need to hire a marketing person.
Make in bold, $2 discount for IPv6 only option. That is far more positive way of saying the same thing.
It is mentioned on our website that all the plans (including XSIG-4) are hosted on Intel Xeon Silver. Namely, as of now it is only 4114 model.
Why it's pretty easy to use. Connection speed is awesome
