HostTheBest - 3 week update on service being down

Since my last post about HostTheBest, it will be 3 weeks tomorrow. Since then, I've tried contacting support again many times, but it's not a surprise that they didn't respond. At this point, my service has been down for over 2 MONTHS without any updates or replies from support.

I know I'm not a high-priority customer; I only bought the service for $10 annually. Since I've bought it, there have been nothing but problems with the service. But what can I say about the host? I haven't been able to use my service for over 2 months.

Thanks, HostTheBest. You are definitely not the best.

Too many red flags for me, avoided it, and yeah, I was right.

    Get those refunds ppl.

Will they eventually get banned from here?

  • Will they eventually get banned from here?

I hope so, I left a review on Trustpilot and in my ticket the confronted me about it and got angry with me. I really do hope they get banned.

Hostthebest is no more in business I can confirm
after sending them pre-sales email about hosting plan, they never replied.

  • Need Low End Detectives to find out of this was a previous scammer, scamming again or a fresh scammer.

You are receiving this message because you have a pending or active service with HostTheBest.

We have been providing hosting services to you and to others for some time now. It is without saying that 2024 certainly provided some of the most growth that we’ve seen and with that came a slew of issues ranging from longer service activation times to performance problems on nodes and in some cases fraudulent orders.

To keep up with the demand from the LET/LEB community compared to other forums where we advertise, we expanded into LA for VPS services and Dedicated Servers as well as NYC while completely filling Utah.

A few weeks ago, we had a large volume of orders in Utah that resulted in fraudulent orders and abuse complaints that contributed to the suspension of our Utah footprint without notice. Once this occurred, we setup space in an alternate Utah location which took longer than expected to get operational both in hardware provisioning and IP range advertisement in addition to moving the VPS control panel (SolusVM).

Once SolusVM was migrated and since then we have had some problems with new order activation (pending orders) and have been working with SolusVM.

Shortly after this we experienced an outage as many other hosts did in Dallas due to the weather storms where the Psychz Dallas location lost power. Once power was restored, our networking gear did not automatically come back online. In Psychz LA, we had resellers of 50 VM’s charge back for service that was purchased 6 months ago and provided which PayPal granted. This caused our PayPal chargeback percentage to grow to 6% while never going above 1% for the 2 years prior. This was resulted in a limitation on our PayPal account and only CC and BitCoint payments active currently.

The go-forward plan is to fix the issues affecting the SolusVM panel, its integrations after the restore of SolusVM and unaffected VPS locations such as NYC and allow those customers who have paid for the annual plans to regain access to their data and VPS services for the remaining life of their service. We are not shutting down the service. This will be done at no cost or inflation or current price or expectation that existing customers will retain upon service renewal – although preferred.

We also do have backups of all locations as best possible stored offsite.

In Utah the alternate location is with Fiberstate.

    NYC remains with ReliableSite

LA remains with Psychz LA although we would like to move all VPS customers to ReliableSite LA

We expect that during the upcoming weeks and months, we will resolve all issues pertaining to the locations and work to repair the damage to your trust in the service.

At this time we have many tickets that are open which will all get addressed shortly.

This was from July 5th nothing else after

  • chargeback yesterday!
