Matomo alternative
Hello! Actually I use Matomo (self-hosted) for gathering analytics, previously I used the Vercel Web Analytics, I'm searching for an alternative that has observability (including custom event logs - like an endpoint to register a custom event or when a endpoint is called) and, obviously, analytics.
All solutions that come to my mind are paid with no self-hosting alternative.

Have you checked Umami? I am not sure about custom event logs though. I am using it as Google Analytics alternative.
Never heard about it, I will check, thanks!
O dear lordie... 2 days and 4 threads!!!
Tried and tested:
Umami (personal favorite # 1)
PostHog (personal favorite # 2)
Plausible Analytics
Ackee
Counter
OGs:
GoAccess
GoatCounter
AWStats
More:
Fugu
Medama
Fathom Lite
Offen
Open Web Analyticsc
Aptabase
If self-hosting isn't a requirement, also check out:
Microsoft Clarity which is surprisingly good.
Umami and Plausible are very similar and both are really nice analytics with no bloat, unlike Matomo. Umami is easier to set up since it requires just a standard relational database while Plausible also requires Clickhouse but it has more features.
