mom when I grow up I want to be like host-c
no you don't
, be doctor, or a mechanic. so you can have some time off.

My classmates who are doctors, are always short on time.
Be a lawyer and pick 9-5 option of staff attorney and one can earn high and still have time outside working hours.
I hope this option would always exist and not an offer for a specific period
you mean the VPS?
Yes, it is a standard product, it is available on our website.
Ubuntu 22 is missing on the order page, only 20 and 24 are available to choose
Few hours in and it still in stock? Did you fall off?
I'm getting error The nameserver prefix is invalid.
need storage vps
use ns1 and ns2
we are redoing that template, it will take some time.
EDIT: Done, Ubuntu-22.04-LTS added as template.
Very nice. Is there any extra discount for annual billing?
prices get lower by default on quarterly and annual.
For yearly payments you basically pay 11 mo only, so 1 moth is free.
Out of stock.
Added another round.
Excellent offers, @host_c
Wishing you the very best.
Just got one. Started out small. Provisioning was quick and painless. Read on LES that addons could be edited later. Is that thru a ticket as I didnt see it in the client area but could have missed it on cellphone ? Thanks
if you are planning to run Windows Server OS, my recommendation would be this
4 vCore / 4 GB memory / 40 GB OS storage
The server only supports expansion up to 8T, which is still too small for me.
Man really? The big law people ik are pushing 80-100 hours a week for that 300K starting salary.
So hosting a DNS server is really banned?
You missed the keyword staff attorney
Staff Attorneys typically work 37-40 hours per week and earn about 130-180k + 30-50k yearly bonus. These numbers are for Texas area. $240k yearly puts them in top 10% of salaried class.
The choice is entirely yours — for someone who prefers good work-life balance vs extraordinary high salary for 80-100 hours per week.
— I have two family members who are attorneys
Appears so

Hy,
Nice, we will offer larger.
Yapp, We can debate why, but long story short, we have a really bad experience with misconfigured DNS servers that were part of a DNS amplification Attack years ago, so, in light of that, DNS is as banned as PORN and the other malicious stuff.
Things might change in the future, but not for the near one.
If you wish to grow, just fire up a ticket.
Well order by phone might not have the best UI experience with WHMCS. And yes, our website sucks, it is not actually a sales site as it is WHMCS core page.
We will make something nicer in the mid-run, but for the moment we are more focused on the Hardware and bringing customers better net, larger storage, faster cpu's and so on, you know, the stuff that matters for you and for us.
PS:
I see a lot of people opting out of Marketing E-mails, I respect that, as I and most of you hate SPAM and 9999 emails in 24h in our inbox.
I can guarentee you that we only send out the following information via MK emails:
We will not spam your inbox!
There is only 1 exception, we might send you some Cards for Christmas and New Eve.
nice offer.
Ticket #YTG-025301
Is there any RAID on the additional storage?
How is the bandwidth allowance calculated? Just out or in and out?
Please provide a larger selection of disk
All the add-on storage resides on a HW RAID 6 array, Array consists either from 12 or 16 disks, disks are all SAS 7.2K RPM, Seagate mostly, I think we have some nodes with HGST. ( AKA WD )
We chose RAID6 as it gives us 2 drives / node that can fail and still not loose any data.
It has a downside also Double Parity consumes some performance ( twice as of raid 5, but RAID 5 is a no go for production for over 2 decades, google why
).
We are also experimenting with SAN/NAS over 2 x 10G and 40G, for the moment I am not impressed in HIGH IO. We will also give a test to some BRAND SAN ( most probably NETAPP, I will not touch EMC again
)
Regarding Monthly Traffic, it is calculated IN + OUT.
Most importantly, congratulations on this sophisticated (read: highly customizable) offer, which is elusive even for much larger providers, let alone for someone who has entered the market only a year ago. You are definitely positioning yourself to soon be one of the most competent providers in the low-end market.
This is what I wanted to comment on: RAID6 is usually used when you want as much usable space as possible but are willing to compromise on performance. However, there's a catch. You can't stretch it too far because when you have a disk failure, the rebuild process on a RAID6 with too many disks becomes very problematic.
While there's no exact limit, and it definitely depends on the workload, typically using RAID6 on more than 8 disks is a bad idea. So, for 16 disks, what you really want is RAID60. It's a stripe of 2 RAID6 arrays. It remains very efficient storage-wise, but when some of those disks eventually fail, the rebuild should be much faster.
Yeah, write amplification is 3x for RAID6, which is why it's not a good option when you need good write performance. Compromises, compromises...
I think I recently read on LET that Hosthatch is migrating all of their storage VPSs to RAID10. I can perfectly imagine how they came to that conclusion. A failed disk in parity RAID (5, 6, etc.) is usually a nightmare...
@maverick - THX!
Nop, worse, I would go with torture/hell maybe??, nightmares do not last 20+ days, 24h/day, not to mention the performance degradation.....
I perfectly understand Hosthatch for going with Raid10, when I read the article, I said to my self, "respect". At some point we will afford to do the same until then, we still have a lot of miles on the road ahead of us.
Raid is not a back in up.
That being said. This is a fantastic offer. I just wish it was a little more closer to APAC.
Maybe one day
