SolusVM New Update This Week !

Okay I talked to them and they are really friendly so I reported an email smtp issue that will be fixed in the next release ( contains bug fixes and these things ) .
They try to release the update this week so, YEY ! xD

  • What exactly was the problem you had with email smtp?

  • The user login notification is not really working ( it is using email() instead using smtp ) with the custom smtp settings you put in the admin panel .The smtp settings will only work for mass emails .

  • That's a good thing :)

@Jack not really mine had a few issues early on, it was fixed years ago by swapping out the MTA, perhaps any new installs have the issue I don't know.

  • As Solusvm wants their own dedicated Lighttpd/PHP setup you can just put your SMTP settings in PHP.ini (which is what mail() uses when configured) and you won't have to worry.

But sure this is nice for GUI monkies...

dirty solution . I prefer not touching the php.ini xD

That's not dirty at all. All email sent via PHP should have proper SMTP settings, but as most people don't know how to setup a local email relay leaving it to the default binary is easier for them.
