Depends on use case but i still feel that this thread is missing some silly giveaway, deadpool deal or whatever. Just posting stock doesn't really work on LET these days.
We do not compete with Hetzner. I think very few German hosting companies can do that.
If you want to pay extra for most of the features and a not so good DDoS protection is okay for you, then you can go to Hetzner. We also have our backup data center there.

Unfortunately not. It's a combination between an own development and some commercial stuff, combined with a orchestrater to manage the traffic. Unfortunately I can't give any details. We've some Game-Templates which we can filter really good (FiveM, Minecraft etc.) - for all other cases, we can build individual filter profiles. That's an example which you can't make on hetzner
