Suggestions for new business directions to learn more about networking and use python coding skills

I did internet marketing over a decade.

I still think it is a great job in terms of flexibility but I lost motivation for it. Not necessarily due to the work but my life situation changed where I no longer had the monetary pressures of living in a big city so then I decided I didn't want to work any more and instead just live as cheaply as I can.

I still have enough passive income from that work to keep me going indefinitely but it could dry up any time.

I would be interested in learning more about networking and putting my python skills to use again.

I started reading the book Network Warrior but the first chapters make no sense to me talking about frames and switches. This is not the every day talk of the current internet. I guess it will get to more familiar territory later with stuff like IP, packets, routing and such but so far that stuff discussed I have never even heard of in my 20+ years using computers.

I do want to demystify the networking side of things because when using remote servers for marketing and running scripts I would do bare minimum on that side to get by but now would like to understand it better.

Any job roles to fit this description?

Also though a big one for me is I hate working to deadlines and pressure from other people so I guess that rules out most things :D. That is why marketing has been so ideal for me as there is no direct communication with the public. You just get commissions based on sales from middleman company of the affiliate.

I guess I will go back to the marketing sooner or later as I think that is hard to beat for my tastes but in the meantime I can be researching and learning in areas I find interesting and then should the time come to go back to marketing I can work on projects that inspire me most.

Marketing for hosting like much of what is offered on this forum seems a good evergreen niche and I can be trying out hosting and learning more about the companies and architecture in the meantime.
