I also have some exciting news to share.
HostSlick e. K. always has been a side project and has been built up over the years to a profitable business.
I always had a 40 week fulltime job on top of it as a Account Manager at a German telco. Telefonica where i took care of own business customers (companies) i got assigned.
Beginning of the year i have sent them the cancellation notice and tomorrow is my last day with them (i also have a week vacation left next week).
Starting from Tomorrow 17:00 CET, HostSlick e. K. will be my new fulltime job. Its my last day at telefonica. All my time will be dedicated to HostSlick.
I have been working very hard besides that. Taking full time job and a business with hundreds of bare-metal servers and fully own infrastructure that does mutliple hundreds of thousands Euro turnover per year is not something where you have alot of free time.
I also have been handling things in between and was allowed to take care of my tickets and customers as long taking care of my work there.
There hasnt been any day which was not stressfull over almost last two years.
I also sometimes felt that i am exhausted, mainly from the full time job. It was not worth it anymore after calculating and especially the amount of income tax i have to pay to work at a full time job when having a good business that has even more potential.
Besides that, time wise etc it was already counterproductive to have this job.
I always wanted a stable and good income to keep growing the business, make new investments etc etc before doing this business full time, live off it completely and dedicate my time.
The time is coming now. Finally....
I have prepared this well for the last few months, if not since last year. Also as you can find in the Original Post, we have made some good amount of expansions lately.
More is planned and even more is coming this summer...
Next week i will start being here fully for HostSlick. Maybe i will take some break here and there to catch new energy but starting July i have good amount of things planned.
ALOT of things are planned for hostslick and i will finally have time for it.
I have already people working with me and a accountant/billing person. Also a pool of freelancers i got to know over the years that help me. Now me starting full time means for customers, faster support. Faster handling of everything.
My goals are not only to massively expand in the future, i mean really. But also i want to have a goal for our service:
I want that there are NO Left tickets after a business day. All should be handled - if possible same day. That will be my personal goal to have tickets handled in a very short time frame....
Just like we had it at my former employeer (as of tomorrow). I have many many goals and plans that i hope to fullfill in the coming future.
I also have plans for my new work day schedule. And i plan to be one full week per month near the Datacenter and live in the netherlands. As i live in Bavaria, Germany and handle alot via Remote hands while visiting the DC as much possible until now.
