Does anyone use VPS for Forex?

I see that some providers offer Forex VPS packages, and I'm quite interested in this type of VPS. However, I don't fully understand the difference between Forex VPS and regular VPS. What's the different? and what do you use it for? I would love to learn more about it.
I only trade normally, so these things are quite new to me. I hope to learn about some applications for Forex on VPS. Thanks!!

  • Yeah, lowend Forex trading is very big around here. You'll be swamped in info.

Forex VPS is not that much different from regular VPSs. It's more like a marketing term to capture a specific audience.

All you need is dedicated IP, a reliable upstream and a good and stable connection and usually enough resources to install Windows (MetaTrader 4 is a Windows software though it can be run on Linux too)

We have many clients using our Japan location (Equinix DC) for that purpose.

Check here; we can offer discounts too ;)

    What's the different?

These VPSes are supposed to have an absolutely minimal latency between them and some exchange(-s).
Hence your trading requests are supposed to have virtually no delay.

Do you offer recurring discounts for SG?

We allow Forex in our VPS. We have many clients using for that purpose in Republic of Moldova, just avoid 100% CPU Usage per 5 min.

Why is latency important? Thought people trade forex in VPS for automation.

get one VPS in NY and another one in London from @Clouvider
and do not believe in forex bots, or trading automation based snake oil

    Important
Trading involves substantial risks and not suitable for most people

Is 200ms latency on metatrader still tolerable for running an EA?

    Then how to get it?

The only time you should automate your trading is when you're arbitraging, but that's also the only sensible reason I can think of to use a VPS for doing it anyway.

  • buy any 4gb minimum ram vps and start by installing unbuntu desktop and then install mt4 in it using https://www.metatrader4.com/en/trading-platform/help/userguide/install_linux

4gb windows RDP is better optimized than Ubuntu desktop

  • What is the latency on mt5 vps would you reccommend?

I would raccoon mand to mind the gap: dealing desks add 30 seconds delay to any order you submit. And what's the battle strategy, if (ema_short > ema_long) buy() ?

    It's a war out there!

Well, it is zero sum game.
Unless there are novice traders to lose money, others can not make money.

The problem with forex trade is people want to get $100 from a $1 account, everyday.

I've seen traders who only limit his profit to $20 a day , from his $300 account. This is better.

nope .... it is unrealistic to expect $100 weekly profit from $300 account
the risk money for each trade should be far far lower

otherwise it is just matter of time ......
do not forget zero sum game

traders like to have more novice traders in the market

From my experience only NanoKVM reacts to market fluctuations in nanoseconds, leaving dust to competitors. Every aspect of this VPS has been meticulously engineered for perfection. If you seek the apex of performance and an ultimate trading advantage, look no further.
