My flawless experience with Hosteroid so far (almost a year!)
After almost a whole year of having services with @Hosteroid, I'm here posting a full, detailed, review about the provider and about who I've been personally taking for a while now.
This review is not endorsed, nor pre-approved by @Hosteroid by any means. I've not gotten free stuff or anything like that for making this review, this comes out from real
as I consider small providers doing good stuff should get more attention.
As a TL;DR, It's been great to work with them, not only because of how rock solid their servers are (as per stable performance without drops and uptime since the start of getting my first small RO VPS), but just how an amazing the guy behind @Hosteroid is and all the helpful knowledge I've learned from him for spending hours of time in DMs with him, almost at 3k messages lol.
Now here it comes, the detailed review with shill-proof screenshots. The stuff marked as spoiler are the relevant screenshots.
My first interaction with @Hosteroid was by a simple DM asking for the offer @sh97 posted, if I could get similar specs at a good yearly price, on June the 30th last year. I really didn't know them, but hey, I usually gamble with yearly packages from not-so known providers.
Ended up registering like a day after getting a good offer and me happy with my new VM

A few months after I also wrote this "mini-review" here for anyone interested ![]()
From that time to basically now, I've had absolutely 0 issues, not even joking. The only "ticket" (actually a quick discord dm) was to ask for rDNS records to my VMs and well, getting it done in a single minute was just fascinating (oh, and now it's automatic with Virtualizor so no more asking)

As per VM uptime & performance, a few of YABS & network-speed.xyz benches talk by themselves, so here they are for each of the locations I have VMs on (London, UK π¬π§, Bucharest, Romania π·π΄ and a new one in Vilnius, Lithuania π±πΉ). They also have Vienna, Austria π¦πΉ and New Jersey, US πΊπΈ, but I personally don't have a use case on those locations currently, so I didn't go for them.
YABS & network-speed.xyz bench for Gaidelis plan (new Vilnius, Lithuania π±πΉ location special offer)
(The network-speed.xyz output specs do not match Gaidelis plan, this is because I got a test VM a few days prior to the launch of the offer)
YABS bench for Dasher plan (Old Bucharest, Romania π·π΄ special offer in a special 10Gbps node)
network-speed.xyz GLOBAL test
YABS bench for Prancer plan (London, UK π¬π§ special offer)
And lastly, my first VM with them, in Bucharest, Romania π·π΄, the VM01 plan (very low RAM so unfortunately can't get GB6 scores)

Geekbench test failed and low memory was detected. Add at least 1GB of SWAP or use GB4 instead (higher compatibility with low memory systems).
YABS completed in 42 min 33 sec
For this specific VM I have a few of old YABS, so you can compare if performance has gotten down, but it has basically not, although I know GB scores are not there.
YABS July 2023
YABS August 2023
Do keep in mind that the above bench results have almost all of them been done whilst the servers being in "prod" (so doing stuff, light stuff though)
I've stopped using UptimeRobot a while ago so I don't really have any public uptime monitor of the other servers, but here's a screenshot of my uptime with this last VM (my first one I ever got with them)

And lastly, here's all the paid invoices for all of the above servers

Thanks to everyone who did read all this, all I have to say before concluding is that Hosteroid is a great company to work with, and the guy behind @Hosteroid is a very knowledgeable and nice person. Will continue working with them for as long as I can and need to ![]()

Comments
Excellent review @zGato (love all the proof included). Free bump for @Hosteroid and a thank you for also being a FreeVPS node sponsor!
@zGato Thank you very much for so kind review!
@crunchbits Thank you crunchy!
OP refers to hoststeroid as "they". Is this operation is not one-man show? Because it seems like it is... It is not bad, but addressing single person as "they" is kinda weird
As per LET Rules, here is me(one account per person) and there is "they"
Cannot edit the post, but here's the network-speed.xyz bench for London, UK π¬π§ for anyone interested.
network-speed.xyz GLOBAL test
@zGato Couldn't agree more! Been smooth sailing
Great review @zGato! Agreed, I have 2 instances with them in Jersey and both have been rock solid, excellent balance of specs, stability and performance. Uptime has been fantastic as well.
Should I post actual uptimes?
No, just post $7 yearly offer please π
Add a bit more and there are nice special offers running currently!
7$/y is definitely insane
