I don't know that I'd necessarily want to fault someone for using AI to make an email sound better. I've done the same thing, and I wasn't out to scam anyone.
I use it for formating and punctuation / grammar
AI is so obvious.
@ServerHunter
Well the part where it says "We will honor pricing at a best effort attempt" probably was added later on since A] at least to me (a non-native speaker) that seems like quite some weird wording B] AI highly likely would have put a period at the end of the sentence.
I see.
nevermind
Dear Nathan and the GoodLeaf Hosting & Development LLC Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to express my concerns regarding the transition of services from IKIHOST to GoodLeaf Hosting & Development LLC. Specifically, I am troubled by the decision not to fully honor the existing pricing plans that were in place with IKIHOST.
As a customer, I relied on the pricing structure and terms that were agreed upon with IKIHOST. The communication from GoodLeaf indicated a commitment to "honoring the current pricing plans" at a best-effort attempt. However, I have been informed that my monthly plan will now cost more than what was originally agreed upon.
This situation seems unfair to me as a customer. If it is not feasible for GoodLeaf to honor the original IKIHOST pricing, I kindly request that you either:
Refund me for the remaining period I have already paid for, or
Allow my service to continue under the original terms until the end of the current billing cycle that I have paid for.
I believe these solutions would be a fair and reasonable approach, ensuring that the transition does not negatively impact your existing customers.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I look forward to your prompt response.
Yeah, it's always those pesky best effort attempts.
Iki host was operating at a near loss only making $50/mo profit and spending around $1800/mo if we were to honor the plans completely it's not feasible we are charging low prices for plans of ikihost members $1.60/gb ram on the low tier and $2/gb on the higher tier, part of that price includes host stability, we own and operate our hardware and try our best to ensure the maximum uptime, their paypal account was suspended so if you wish to have a refund your only option is to dispute with PayPal
I cannot give 32gb of ddr4 gold 6154 ram for $8/mo it's just not possible
I contacted IKIHOST regarding the continued use of the free VPS I won in a previous giveaway. I initially submitted a ticket through their system, and they responded by telling me to create a GoodLeaf account. I then inquired again through their website's ticketing system, and received the following blunt response: "sadly we will not honor a free vps." They didn't even bother to use any punctuation.
Based on this experience, I have the following impressions:
If they were not going to honor the free VPS from before the acquisition, they could have simply said so instead of making me register for an account first. This is a waste of my time.
Their attitude towards new customers is dismissive.
They suspended my server without any prior notice, not even giving me time to back up my data.
Overall, I would never consider using this company as a provider.
In addition to the above, I have had negative experiences with IKIHOST in the past:
The paid server I purchased from them was unstable, and I did not renew my subscription after a month.
The free VPS I won from the giveaway was also unstable, and I had not stored any important data on it.
This entire incident has been extremely unpleasant. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this company, both their old and new services.
Here are some additional points to consider:
The company's communication is unprofessional and unhelpful.
Their actions demonstrate a lack of respect for their new customers.
There are many other VPS providers available that offer better service and value.
And C, it is clear that the previous part of the paragraph didn’t account for that fact, it would have sounded better not being added last. That and the dot was what gave it away for me, like someone was reading it and wanted to add one more thing without rewriting
So why GPT an announcement of an acquisition? it sounds like the only way anyone gets anything is if they accept some new pricing that's XXX% higher than they were paying. It'll be "GoodLeaf 4x/400% my price (even though you went from $8->$32 for instance)".
All you've done is dragged your balls through a bed of broken glass again. You aren't helping anyone, infact you gave users hope of improved service at the same pricing they aren't getting it.
Francisco
I read balls, I click thanks.
Balls
This is a prime example of a responsible and customer-centric supplier, demonstrating sound business acumen. Driving away the acquired company's existing customer base is akin to sabotaging the very foundation of the acquisition. What value remains if you're left with a mere brand devoid of loyal customers? GoodLeaf's decision-making process seems rather puzzling.
On a separate note, I've been consistently impressed with the stability and reliability of @Francisco's servers. GoodLeaf would be wise to heed his feedback if it genuinely seeks to earn the trust and respect of its users.
So basically any IKIHost customer got anything or was it just a hoax?
This entire message was written with one period.
(It wasn’t even for ending a sentence.)
….yeah, that was hard to read.
I tend to disagree, you could sustain 32G of memory at $8/mo, depending on node density. Go higher density, problem solved.
We run 768gb and 1.5tb node density
Alot of users are getting their same pricing with no change, it was mainly people with 75% off a month let discounts that we cannot support pricing on
Ikihost was unable to pay their bills and their servers got suspended, that's why he was selling the company, the company was only barely profiting by $50/mo so when they locked the paypal with $500 in it that was it, I sent out email campaigns on the whmcs telling customers to backup data them selves and to reach out to us to get a new service started, ikihost was going down and was going to be no more. we took over to help customers to not leave them stranded and to still give them good and realistic pricing.
@GoodLeaf-Cloud, how high were you when you decided to buy IKIHOST and not honor existing contracts?
There is no contracts and they get account credit for all the days unused in the service, the current pricing was and is unsustainable only profiting about $50/mo with $1800 in bills
I knew ikihost was fucked when I saw their free webhosting got shutdown
How much you buy ikihost brand? @GoodLeaf-Cloud
If you buy a company and/or their customers, you honor existing contracts/sales until the end of the binding/billing period. Everything else is a scam.
$7
They are given account credit for unused days we are honoring the pricing for 90%~ of customers some customers had wwyy too cheap of pricing
That makes it an even bigger dick move.
lmao.
