Questions about server with HDD for general file storage and SSD for operating system?
I got a server like this (from @Calin / iHostART), but until this point, I have never actually used a server that wasn't pure SSD. Are there any special precautions to take or other things to be aware of when uploading stuff, e.g, for a website or to run an instance, like PeerTube or Mastodon?
Thanks in advance.

If you don't need fast & data intensive processing of server jobs, especially in high traffic and large databases. HDD is suitable for you, on HDD even if your CPU has a large number of cores the performance will not be much better. because the disk i/o speed ratio cannot keep up with the CPU.
Generally, you will not see much difference. If you will need some "fast" directories on HDD, use symlinks or mount with --bind option to create SSD catalogs inside HDD mount
