CentOS 6 + GNOME =

Long story short, setup VNC server on CentOS 6, used yum groupinstall "Desktop", and this is what I got.
What else am I missing from this, any help would be nice.

  • Maybe you need to install some fonts?

  • Any ideas on how is what I'm asking...

    Alright, it was yum groupinstall "Fonts". Well thanks no one for the help, and yum grouninstall "GNOME Desktop Environment" does not work on CentOS 6...

  • Maybe you're using the wrong language set? I can't remember what its called. Character Set?

  • before installing gnome you should "apt-get build-dep gnome"
    that would solve it on debian.
    use YUM accordingly.
    also, god, why gnome, yugh! :D

    yum groupinstall 'Desktop' (CentOS 6x - as you mentioned)

    -> ensure runlevel 5

    yum groupinstall 'Desktop' 'Gnome' (Fedora, case sensitive)

    I know it's an oldie for a thread but I found these to work as of late & thought I'd share.
