VPS for running a router
Hi everyone,
Longtime reader here. I plan to run a cloud router solution (similar to Mikrotik Cloud Router), but custom one, with iptables and WireGuard and stuff. So far I've been using 5 EUR Digital Ocean droplet (yes, I know), but their 1TB traffic cap has been really limiting lately.
Obvious solution would be to switch to Hetzner/netcup, but I'm not very keen on sending my passport to some company on the Internet.
I'm fine with PayPal/CC payments, so Crypto is not that important for me (but a nice option).
What I'm looking for:
- Reputable provider (won't perish in 3 months)
- No ID/Address requirement
- Germany servers
- 1 Gbps unlimited or 20TB traffic
- 1-2 CPU cores
- <10 EUR per month.
So far I've found OVH, but their German peering is not so good. I don't use Tor or torrent porn, that's just for private use.

From my affiliated crystal ball I can see that:
Layer7 has a VPS in Germany with 50 TB/month bandwidth (1 Gbps), 2 Intel vCores, 4 GB memory, IPv4 & IPv6, at ~5€/month. There are also other options, like Aeza, at 6 to 8 €/month with somewhat similar specs.
