Hi,
as usual: depends
IF the hostserver does have enough resources to cater all guest resource request
THEN we talk here about 0-3% of loose for physical vs. virtual because the process has to travel more logical layers compared to if the process works straight on the physical hardware
So far theory. In the real world it depends on your usage. Are you using something with graphics? Some special use case where you need access to specific devices / hardware functions? THEN: yes, it will be usually slower, except this graphics / special devices and hardware are passed through in a dedicated way.
In general from the perspective of the OS, it does not matter if its a physical server or a virtual server. But based on your use case or the way you use it, it might make a smaller or bigger or virtually no feelable difference.
All depends on resource configuration
Ryzen dedicated 4vCore VPS would be faster than many dedicated server that are old old CPU and HDD
Check the performance of VPS with 4 dedicated vCores
OP edited his post.
Initially it was a question about looking for dedicated servers.
Netcup right?
Another example
VPS with 8 dedicated vCores
Impressive. But imho these hosts are not fully loaded, yet. One of my RS3000 node, 7702p with 8 cores, achieved a remarkable GB6 score of 5300+. About 4 months later, the score dropped to about 4200 or less on its bad day.
dedicated cpu vCores
I request vps provider to pin the cpu cores to the vps
You see, RS3000 is VDS from netcup, too, without CPU pinning in default, though.
IMHO the drop of the score is expected, cuz frequency boost is not possible on a heavy-loaded host.
I am extremely pleased with the performance of the VPS. I use for running ML algorithms
In general, a Dedicated Server typically offers more raw processing power and resources since you have the entire physical machine dedicated to your use. On the other hand, a VPS (Virtual Private Server) shares physical hardware with other VPS instances, so it might not have the same level of performance as a Dedicated Server.
However, advancements in virtualization technology have made VPS instances quite powerful, often rivaling the performance of Dedicated Servers for many use cases. Plus, VPS hosting tends to be more cost-effective and scalable, making it a popular choice for many businesses and individuals.
Ultimately, whether a VPS or a Dedicated Server is "slower" depends on your specific needs and requirements.
Sure you do, and I am still using mine for model inference, even it slows down quite a bit.
Here we go again.
A hosting provider without a tag asking stupid noob questions.
@leasepacketofficial , why don't you ask your so-called expert team: leasepacket.com/about-us/
Lol, Iam dying let me guess from India ?
I wish mods would be more strict on closing these kinds of threads. Already flagged it. These spammy threads genuinely annoy me and often get more interaction than interesting ones.
Think I'm about to write a userscript that lets me hide threads since LET doesn't have that feature.
Of course, it's an Indian hosting provider.
And their expert team:
1x Operation Manager, 1x Accountant, 1x Business Analyst, 1x Digital Marketer, 2x Technical Content Writer, and 2x SEO Executive.
No need for technical staff. Reselling is all about marketing.
If anyone needs a chicken-free recipe the LeasePacket SEO experts managed to get a demo site index by Google. (https://demo510.leasepacket.com/recipes/)
