@FlorinMarian you said @Calin wasn’t your competitor as you’r bin a totally different league. Now, he is?

You are not looking at that statement from a good angle.
I don't host what Calin hosts, while Calin can easily host what I host.

Definetely makes him your competitor then.

Did you ever calced how much would it cost if you decided to transfer all your hardware to Voxility?

And a sub-question, just for a thought: @Calin is in the same dumpster as you. But he is clean of any attacks. Have you asked your-self - why, how?

Typically skids do not extend their games more then 3 days (ADHD won't allow them). You have been targeted specifically (paid gig?). And I bet 1 tacco bell roll - this is done by your competition.

    Luck.
I would also have followed your path if I had argued before, but I did not argue with anyone during the start of this DDoS.

It's funny that other providers are so busy kicking FlorinMarian while he is down.

Either they fear his business, or they are just mentally weak people who need to bully someone to pull themself up.

Either way, they are definitely not marketing geniuses because these threads are getting indexed by Google. And serious customers who do due diligence will shake their heads when they read how they behave.

Most of them tried to help, from day 1, that was like 18K views ago and a few pages back on the other topic, by now, most give up as the "Patron" just goes around the problem.

They were the same one called stupid when giving him useful information and tips, which he refused and did what he did.

@xvps said: Either they fear his business, or they are just mentally weak people who need to bully someone to pull themself up.

I do not think anyone fears his basement dweller hosting project, at this point they are just having fun, there is literally no way to help Florin because his ego doesn't let him.

@xvps said: Either way, they are definitely not marketing geniuses because these threads are getting indexed by Google. And serious customers who do due diligence will shake their heads when they read how they behave.

lmao, do you think anyone cares about hosting providers making fun of a person that refused their help and is getting slammed by 2Gbps attack which can be launched for free? Florin is at this point a laughing stock, just like Cociu.
You clearly never been around professional telecom mailing-lists which are full of people shitting at certain providers.
Its only right to call out bullshit, no matter who you are, its a community forum not some super serious place with god knows what importance.

Its absolutely hilarious to see a "hosting provider" downed for weeks with an attack that literally can be launched from home internet connection. Not to mention you can get such attack power completely for free from booter operators.
I bet whoever is launching this attack just bought some DigitalOcean server for $5 and is hammering him with it.

I have been observing this shitshow from its very beginnings, and I gotta give Florin that, nothing has made me laugh so hard as what he is experiencing. He is getting completely destroyed by a "threat" that is older than him.

His "upstream" routers connected to his 20 years old Catalyst are not capable to handle "abnormal" pps.

  • @xvps said: Serious customers will notice that this is a service transfer request thread that is being derailed.

Nope, it has not been derailed, it is very much still on topic.

See the first sentence of his request, it made reference to an existing issue, so people are at liberty to also refer to that existing issue

tbh, unlike others, I don't really see a GRE tunnel with OVH as a solution... since you can DDoS the main IP of the RO infra and cause the GRE link to break...

  • DPDP Administrator, The Domain Guy

I'll move this to "Requests" since it's tagged as "LF" and there are no services being transferred this very moment.

I used to be iHostART customer.
My container is offline for 8 weeks during the one year contract.
6 weeks were explained as "migration".
2 weeks were explained as "attack".
Thus, Calin isn't clean of attacks.

    • When I hosted my website without CDN, I got attacked as soon as I wrote something that disagreed with HOST-C.
    • It's well known that HOST-C is a competitor of bro.

I'll leave it up to the reader to connect the dots.

Use upstream-assigned dynamic IPv6 as infrastructure IP.
You can tunnel both IPv4 and IPv6, over IPv6.

    • There are fewer ready-made botnets to attack IPv6.
    • Upstream routes only a /64 to the home router. It's harder to scan the IP out of millions of possible subnets.
    • If it's getting attacked, replace with a different /64.

Ping statistics for yoursunny alleged DDOS by HOST-C:

  • @yoursunny said: Use upstream-assigned dynamic IPv6 as infrastructure IP.

While I appreciate the IPv6 worship, how is that different from an IPv4 assigned outside of the ordinary ranges exclusively for the GRE? Eg hide the obvious markers and be one of many

Public IPv4 range enters OVH and passes through DDoS filtering.
Traffic is tunneled within IP6GRE toward home router, no DDoS protection needed.

IPv4 botnets are more widely available than IPv6 botnets.

Aha. So, what would theoretically happen if a DDoS hits the RO GRE Endpoint? On v6.
Yeah, you can change the v6, however downtime occurs.

I contacted FlorinMarian in PM, and I made him a cheap colocation offer, at our new data center, cogent network, port speed 1 Gbps dedicated per server, cogent network, generators and UPS, and most importantly a contract for only 3 months, in order to have time to solve his problems at his home, he did not accept...

I really don't know why he keeps posting all the problems if he doesn't want any solution to them

If ever FlorinMarian is no longer able to pay his bills, I am willing to buy all his assets :open_mouth:

Yes you reboot the home router to change the IPv6.
    It only takes one minute.
Low end customers will hardly notice.

    We are on CDN now.
    Origin server is IPv6-only.
It has no open ports thanks to Zero Trust tunnel.
    It's unDDoSable.
