It is free lol https://ffmpeg.org/download.html
When ChatGPT went wrong.
It doesn't work on shared hosting. I am new to hosting. Was thinking anyone has a reseller hosting with ffmpeg installed. Just want to use it for only audio. @tentor
Get a VDS
@JabJab, I am referring to reseller hosting with ffmpeg installed. Not ffmpeg software itself.
@tentor that would be my last option
VDS for audio? Seems overoveroverkill
That should be your first option
Google colab
Reseller is basically shared hosting just that you are able to resell it. As for supporting ffmpeg i doubt there are a lot of providers willing to give access due to amount of resources it can use. As @tentor said getting some dedicated (either dedi or virtual dedi) box would be the logical approach.
Well he could convert it locally but for some reason he searches for a shared hosting reseller?! Sounds like something bulky.
@JabJab, yeah, for only audio. Basically, for mp3 tagger with voice watermark.
Understandable but since providers likely wont be able to lock all the heavy features (video encodes across all cores... not exactly what you'd want in a shared environment) chances are still that most aren't going to provide it.
what about a seedbox with shell access
it does work on VPS.
Run standalone FFMPEG

Would rather go for VPS instead
I don't think this too works on shared hosting. I have searched.
Have you tried?
I don't have access to root. I use a shared hosting. Namecheap specifically.
Just get a VPS and be done with it
That's the point, you don't need root to run standalone...
So I can just install the file without command line?
Please do not run ffmpeg on a shared hosting without explicit green light from provider. Every sane provider gonna suspend your account, this is not how it works/what shared hosting are for.
Buy a VPS, limit CPU usage.
Use some free service (Google Cloud, Oracle, Hetzner free credits).
Aaaah I remember the days on WHT when 'ffmpeg' hosting was the new happening thing and everyone was rushing to offer it.
Francisco
So, can I run ffmpeg on BuyShared?!

On the new, wicked fast BuyShared - there must be a lot of CPU not used, right?!
Run ffmpeg in the browser.
Let your viewers' computer do the work for you.

No-no, it is "edge computing"!
Why are you asking this when you said "you searched"
Most shared hosting should have some sort of per account CPU limitation already, so whatever running under the account should be "allowed".
