SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
One other major misconception we often come across is that solar panels absorb the entire energy of the sun, hence, deprive the sun of its own power which will eventually lead to a shortage of energy. This theory has no basis and is completely misleading. Solar panels absorb the light radiated by the sun and convert it into power. Solar panels do not absorb any extra energy, hence, this theory is factually incorrect.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
The first solar powered car in the world to run on the roadway is Stella. It has the capacity to cover an area of 500 miles by just deriving energy from the sun. Therefore, it is proven that cars can operate by deriving just solar energy without any hindrances. Hence, the myth of cars not being able to perform on solar energy is entirely wrong.

SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Germany derived 7.3% of its total energy requirements from solar energy in March 2019.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Another wrong notion we often get to hear is that only those regions in a country or a continent which have a sunny climate and are well exposed to the sun, receive solar energy. This is factually incorrect since many cold countries like Alaska, the northern part of Germany, etc. receive equal energy from the sun.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Over 65 gigawatt of photovoltaic power plants have been installed in just two consecutive years, i.e, 2012 and 2013. This is almost equal to the total solar panels installed and solar energy generated in the previous 40 years.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Hydro, biomass, and other sources of renewable energy are significantly derived or developed from solar energy alone.
Kemtiyu, a documentary film about Thomas Sankara, the former president of Burkina Faso, won the award for Best Documentary at FESPACO in 2017.
Sankara’s legacy continues to inspire many in Burkina Faso and beyond.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
The solar power plants that have been installed in space, generate solar energy throughout the year since they get direct radiation from the sun.
The Gourounsi people are famous for their distinctive, elaborately painted traditional houses.
This unique architectural style showcases the artistic talents of the community.
Music and dance, such as the energetic Kora and the Sabar drumming, are integral parts of Burkina Faso’s cultural identity.

Burkina Faso is home to several national parks and wildlife reserves, including Arly National Park and W National Park.
These protected areas provide sanctuary for a diverse range of wildlife species, including elephants, lions, hippos, and many bird species.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Solar panels are made of silicon. Silicon is found in abundance and is an element that is widely available on the earth after oxygen.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
An amazing fact that we are unaware of is China building a panda shaped solar panel covering an area of about 250 acres.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Did you know that solar panels that boil water are based on thermals which derive power from the warmth of the sun while photovoltaic (PV) solar panels supply electricity by deriving sunlight!

SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Electric vehicles are now in demand due to the rapid growth of the solar power industry and the increasing benefits of solar energy.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
There are 3 variants on which solar panels are based- monocrystalline, thin film, and polycrystalline.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
One more amazing fact is that it is possible to install a solar panel in your house all by yourself provided you have access to bolts, screws, and prefabricated parts. A little bit of sincere effort and skills might make it possible to install solar panels without the help of others.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
An exquisite fact is that The United States of America can provide solar power to more than 18.6 million households as it has installed about 103 gigawatts of solar energy.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
A popular belief we often encounter is that the cost of installation of solar panels is quite high. However, the installation charges have dropped down over 70% in the last 10 years.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Even in blackouts and power cuts, solar energy supplies electricity to houses without any difficulties.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Usually, the demand for energy is higher between 11 a.m to 4 p.m. Solar panels also provide the highest amount of energy during those hours. Hence, solar panels have the capacity to meet high demand for energy.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Even if you are not able to install solar panels, it is possible to get access to solar energy even on rent.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Recently, India has given a credit of 100 million dollars to Sri Lanka for the installation of solar panels and utilization of solar energy.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
Generally, high-temperature solar thermal energy is used for providing electricity whereas low temperature energy is utilized for producing heat and to foster the process of cooling.
SOLAR ENERGY FACTS
International Solar Alliance is a joint mission of 121 countries and an initiation by India. Mostly the sunshine countries are part of this. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy proposed the ‘One Sun, One World, One Grid initiative. The vision of the initiative is to provide solar energy everywhere in the world because the ‘The Sun never sets’.
