It really is! Thank You for joining our New Year party thread @Gisif
@forumsuk -- I've seen this be done by clients before (likely with some heavy optimizations), but I would imagine 2 GB RAM or higher would be likely be more ideal for this.
Oh, I see. You'd try contacting live chat on the website to see if they can accommodate your custom request. Else, dustinc, the CEO is always here.

https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Server/Requirements/Dedicated - "Note that these requirements are for the server only you will need to allocate more resources to the OS!"
So yes, 2GB+ RAM would likely meet your needs.
Thanks, you too have a great year
@noob404 -- It is quite antiquated/old school nowadays, we retired our OpenVZ product line IIRC in ~2020 and gave all of our clients that were still on OpenVZ, a free upgrade to our KVM virtualization product line.
Consumers prefer KVM, and also from a provider perspective, KVM is much better as its "full" virtualization whereas OpenVZ is "containers". With OpenVZ there are certain modules (i.e. TUN/TAP) that need to be enabled from the host node side, also it shares the host node kernel with every container so VM's are unable to run their own kernels. With KVM you can also mount/install your own ISO, which is awesome.
@DeadlyChemist -- Thank You for joining! Any plans for the New Year?
Hi @PepePepperoni -- All available packages we have for the New Year sale are listed at https://www.racknerd.com/NewYear/ - though we are not limited to the packages listed here. Feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] with a description of your full specification requirements, and I'll be happy to put together a custom package/quote for you based around your needs. We have certainly done larger-sized virtual servers for custom requests before, so we can definitely help. Just all depends on what you need.
There are many ways, it depends what you are looking for!!
I still remember the days on LEB when Xen and OpenVZ were quite popular
Nowdays, you rarely hear of these two. KVM definitely took the fame
Happy New Year to you as well @themew -- Thank You so much! Let's crush 2024 ๐
