  • ORIGINAL @MrEd TRACES BACK TO 1937....
The character of Mr. Ed originated from a series of magazine stories, that dates back to 1937. The short story, β€œThe Talking Horse” appeared in an issue of Liberty Magazine, where he not only talked, he also got drunk.

  • THE VOICE of @MrEd

Production only revealed the real name of the actor who played Mister Ed towards the end of the series. The uncredited voice was played by TV Western Actor, Allan β€œRocky” Lane.

  • @MrEd had a very refined and specific taste. His daily meal always included twenty pounds of hay and a gallon of sweet tea. That’s not all he consumed. In an interview, Alan Young once said that they used peanut butter to get Bamboo Harvester to move his lips and β€œtalk.”

  • I love those @MrEd facts πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

Happy New Year! Let's keep partying! Hope more people use RackNerd's vps.

Their support is awesome. Really hope that they keep going like this for a long time.

@noob404 -- Happy to hear this feedback! We put in a considerable amount of effort behind the scenes in building out our support team and our processes, and it's rewarding to see this translate to real-world customer satisfaction. We also recently hired on a new Operations Coordinator as well (with over 10 years industry experience), so a lot of good stuff happening behind the scenes to make sure our customers are well taken care of. We're not perfect, no human is - but one thing for sure is that we definitely care for our clients' success, and we'll always there for our customers (true 24x7 availability).

We're definitely not resting on our laurels - we will continue to innovate and expand :)

That's so good to hear. Congratulations on the new hire as well. I contacted support for setting up PTR records and they replied within 15-30 minutes. Wasn't expecting that kinda support for a VPS I got $14/year. Mindblown!

I know about hosts that charge 5-10X that and still take 2 days to reply to simple requests.

I wonder about the awesome support your managed VPS customers would be enjoying!

Hi @noob404 -- That's awesome to hear, thanks for sharing your experience! I know for a fact, based on data, tickets don't sit unanswered for very long here :) And we have multiple techs on every shift. I'm confident we won't, but if we ever fall short of your expectations - feel free to reach out to me at any time at [email protected] and I'll personally jump in and assist.

Our managed customers enjoy the same, fast response time - they just get more within the scope/responsibility of support. Though with our managed customers, we really take the time to document and understand each customer's unique setup, etc, as every managed customer's requirements/needs/setup/environment are different.

If you know your way around the block with Linux though (or at the very least, willing to research/learn/Google), can't go wrong with unmanaged :) The beauty with that is the ability to constantly learn, enhance one's own skills, and with our VPS you can always reinstall/start fresh at any time, which makes it a perfect utility for learning/development.

  • @MrEd HAD A STUNT DOUBLE

Mister Ed actually had a stunt double horse, whose name was Pumpkin. Pumpkin was a quarter horse and although he looked very similar to Mister Ed, his mane was white.

Done in <5 minutes, the support is awesome no matter if you have crazy promo or managed stuff.

<3 Thank You for sharing your experience @TrK! I can confirm this is true, we are committed to remaining fully available/accessible to all clients, regardless of spend and regardless of promo product or not. This is an advantage for our clients, in an industry where promo products are often classified into limited/deprioritized support groups and/or AI, which is a practice I am proud to say we do not engage in :) I did an interview about this very subject on LEB not too long ago: https://lowendbox.com/blog/interview-with-racknerd-ceo-dustin-cisneros-the-importance-of-human-interaction-in-customer-service/

If you ever need anything, you can count on us being here to help. Thanks again!

How many IPv6 addresses can each VPS have? Thank you

Hi @markz -- Good question! We can allocate up to 100 individual IPv6 addresses per VM (in our Strasbourg or Los Angeles DC-02 locations).

You get the idea, Dustin. For me, I go the unmanaged way every time, with almost everything in life, cause, I don't usually have the finances to hire someone else. But, I sometimes thank my circumstances cause they've helped me learn a lot. Before getting this VPS, I had no idea about anything else than Apache. But, now, I know enough about other attractive servers like OLS and Nginx. This VPS, in itself has been a learning experience for me. Thanks for making it pleasant and smooth.

A huge shoutout, merry X-mas and Happy new year to the support team and you (CEO). Keep it up!

  • Human actors aren’t the only ones who receive special recognition and awards for their performances. In 1962, @MrEd Ed was honored with the Patsy Award. The PATSY Award was originated by the Hollywood office of the American Humane Association in 1939. They decided to honor animal performers after a horse was killed in an on-set accident during the filming of the Tyrone Power film Jesse James. The letters are an acronym and stand for Performing Animal Television Star of the Year.

  • @MrEd knew how to answer the phone, he just didn’t know how to talk.

  • Long after the show stopped, Alan Young and @MrEd Ed remained friends, and Young would visit the ranch regularly to ride Mr.Ed.

Yeah. Heard this one as well. Yeehaw was the only term his rider taught him.
