    Yeah, Opterons are a sad case. As much as they are very nostalgic hardware, even in a dual setup (i don't think there were any quad opteron boards) they simply won't cut it anymore. The singlecore performance is just to low. They are from a time when AMD more or less gave up so there aren't any models that compare to the Ivybridge Xeons or similar.
