As a typical month-to-monther, I feel you here, but the savings are amazing when paying yearly.

  • Dammit I now have 0.66% same content

    I dispute this figure @MrEd :D

  • I got this little 1.5GB Ryzen VPS to learn Ansible - inspired by @vitobotta 's posts. It came to 14 British pounds exactly - for a year! That is less than some hosts charge for IPs! Thank you @dustinc , thank you Racknerd!

  • Hi,

I'm really interested in this offer. I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question.

I would be interested in purchasing one VPS (4.5 GB KVM VPS) in each of these locations:
    Strassburg,
    Amsterdam,
    New York,
    Chicago,
    Dallas,
    Seattle,
    Los Angeles

And one VPS (3GB Ryzen NVMe VPS) in New York.

However I really would like to see the bench results for each of these locations.

    wget -qO- bench.sh | bash

That would be incredibly helpful. Much appreciated.
    Thanks

Hi @ThisThatGuy -- Appreciate you so much :) Thank You again for the business and I'm happy to hear that our performance is much faster than your DigitalOcean VPS. Just wanted to address the network concern if you don't mind. This is a known issue with the YABS script (with the external iperf3 servers that it currently uses), was discussed at length in various posts within this thread (and also on this forum). Rest assured the actual network speeds in the real world are actually much faster than what is reflected by the iperf3 test servers that YABS script uses. So that I don't repeat myself, please see the below posts where this topic was discussed and addressed in greater length:

    https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/3764640/#Comment_3764640

    as well as: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/3764663/#Comment_3764663

    and at: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/3754191/#Comment_3754191

Various community members have confirmed this as well, and seen much faster network speeds when using other scripts to benchmark.

Oh I get that various benchmarks may not tell the whole story - which is why I related my personal experience... sending data to the server, for me, is 'slow', sub 100mbps. Whereas I can send to my DO VPS at ~800mbps.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Hi @ThisThatGuy -- Totally understood. Now with that being said and clarified, if you are experiencing any actual issues in the real-world and you believe for it to be an issue on our side, we are happy to take a look at the routes/paths and see if there is any room for optimization from the network level. To do that, we'd need a MTR (preferably a bi-directional one) with minimum 100 iterations, and the source IP. This will allow us to examine the routes/path your ISP is taking to our network and from there, we can determine if there is particular area that can be optimized, or if we can perhaps reroute against another carrier, etc. If this is still an outstanding issue, please feel free to send that information over to me by e-mail at [email protected] and I'll definitely take a look at what we can do :)

Hi @pradyut -- Thank You for your interest! These deals were priced out for the best possible savings on an annual commitment, anything less translate to higher and/or normal monthly cost which is what you’d want to avoid. Some of our best deals are annually and it is our hope that you can grab one and enjoy :)

    LETS GOOOO LET

  • Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

If I were to transfer 100+ GB of data to a Racknerd VPS, would the speed consistently stay at near 800Mbps-1Gbps, or would it throttle after a few minutes?

  • Hello, I would like to double the bandwidth.

    Thanks!

Hi @houmie -- Quite a bit of benchmarks were shared by community members throughout this thread, though I realize that may not always be convenient to reference easily. Out of full transparency, during our busiest times such as Black Friday, running benchmarks across multiple plans/locations/etc is time consuming, though if you do decide to purchase and if there's any issues, you have my word I'll be there to help 100% to your satisfaction :)

Hi @Franzkafka -- VPS services in Amsterdam do have a small added cost to make up for our increased costs in operating out of that region. If budget is tight, an alternative location in one of our North America locations may work depending on your audience.

Take a look at our Looking Glass' and see if another location would perhaps work for your use-case.

And hey, maybe if you stay active within this thread, you might just win one for free too! Can’t go wrong with RackNerd's Black Friday and giveaways :)
