    Excited to be apart of the community! I'll be ordering a Racknerd VPS soon. My intention is to use it to remotely monitor my home network with Uptime Kuma. What else do you guys use your VPS for?

    Going back to my very first post and question, what do you guys use your VPS for? Curious to hear more people's experiences.

    DNS servers, web servers, mail servers with a relay via mxroute for outbound mail. Some other things, but that covers most of the main things

    Mail server with a relay - good idea. Such a pain to deal with getting on RBLs I hear.

  • Thank you @MrEd

    Do you run standard DNS servers, or something like Pi-Hole?

    @FrankZ or @MMzF or @Xrmaddness you guys want a VPS I'm Chicago?

    I won one but still deciding on whether I want it or not.

    No, but thank you anyway! Are you interested in a 1 month service extension that I may or may not have won? https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/3759857/#Comment_3759857

    Cool, I'll wait for @MMzF then.

    Thanks @Xrmaddness for the kind offer, it's tempting but you can have it - extension is useful for everybody.

    @sh97 are you interested in trading your "768 MB KVM VPS (Intel Xeon/SSD)" for a one month extension? (assuming I did in fact win that one)
    The extension could be useful for you and worth more anyway. And I would love to get my hands on my first VPS!

    Sure, you're next in line. If @MMzF does not want it, happy to give it to you!

    I might opt to order a separate "1.5 GB Ryzen NVMe VPS" even if we're able to do this swap. I'm really liking what I'm seeing with Racknerd so far. Have some ideas for multiple VPSes.

    If that doesn't make any difference for you, feel free to use my affiliate links. That way you would be passively supporting the racknerd stats page and all the fun changes done to it ;)

    @MrEd should add such column.

    That is really not hard to do. Will do that as soon as I get to work ;)

    The scripts awesome man! Good work!

    The percentage column has been added :)

    Noice! Lemme check !!

  • @FrankZ said:

    You know that was me. :sunglasses:

    Actually I expect MrED was just updating the script to show % of posts

    That is correct :) The downtime was only 2-3 minutes :) (misstyped one variable :D )

    True, yea that must've been it. I do see the %'s now.

    I use gDNSd to geocast my web servers, this also has auto failover so I don't go down. DNS failover is not a perfect solution, but I have over 1,000 days uptime on the website monitoring so it seems to work good enough for a low end solution

    The stats page was running fine for more than a year already, without any downtimes (except when I do some changes). RN VM is working without issues, application is also flawless :)

    The fat finger strikes again !!

    I am known for having fat fingers, so it is nice to see I have some company in that regard

  • Or is it for me only???

  • Anyone tried on phone??

  • Have you tried out Uptime Kuma? I run it internally and it's been working well. Finally got around to setting up notifications with a Telegram Bot - first time messing around with that too. Not difficult, but just haven't had time to tinker.

    They sure are!

    Working for me. Maybe try clearing your cache for that site? Or a quick/easy test is to try it in a private/incognito browser tab.

    I have had my own uptime monitoring system for many years. Since I can add or change anything I want it has served me well
