This is a land crab, blue crabs are deeper ocean crabs. So I doubt they see each other much even if they are friends.

Speaking of land crabs, we get herds of them all over the place in the spring when they are mating. I tourist found one in her apartment last year and asked me what kind of bug was it. I had a very hard time not laughing, but I kept a straight face and said it is a crab my dear, but not the kind you can eat.
And they are dominated by King crabs. So yea, life as a blue crab kind of sucks.
But they get some nice views..
