Hi good to see you. How's life going today?

Good to see you too! Been pretty busy today, so I haven't been posting very much. I've been hopping into the thread when I've had some down time. How are you doing today?

Just woke up about an hour ago. Still getting my feet under me.

Oh wow. What's the timing of your day normally look like? Are you normally getting up this late in the day or is this unusual?

I sleep when I get tired, I wake up when I am rested. Low stressed and well rested.

What about on days where you've got somewhere to be at a certain time?

I set an alarm. :) Does not need to happen very often.

    That's good!

    Thanked by 1FrankZ
  • Ah okay, so that's the one I missed earlier today

Planning a ~8,000 km 4x4 trip starting after Christmas in January for 6 to 10 weeks so I'll need to be a little more "on schedule" then.

Wow, that sounds like fun! Heading anywhere particular?

So far the plan is from here over to Veracruz, to the Palenque area, down to an area south of Cancun that we like a lot called Mahahual to sit on the beach, then into the jungle of Belize to see some new Mayan ruins, then over to Flores, Tikal, San Pedro Sula, and Antigua Guatemala. Then into Honduras, and El Salvador before heading over to Lake Atitlán and Chichicastenango. Then through the mountains back into Mexico and San Cristóbal de las Casas, Last leg is back to the pacific coast and a few over nights in some places along the coast, before hanging out in a little place called Playa Azul in Michoacan with some friends for a while.

Wow, really sounds like quite a trek. That's awesome, and I'm quite envious :)

Hopefully everything goes really well for you and you have a great time

Excited to be apart of the community! I'll be ordering a Racknerd VPS soon. My intention is to use it to remotely monitor my home network with Uptime Kuma. What else do you guys use your VPS for?

    Hi @Arjun42 -- Good stuff :) That's always a good use-case for a VPS.

Thank You for your interest in our Black Friday deals, and for stopping by.

Thanks, Dustin! I appreciate that Racknerd seems to be involved with customer experience.

Does anyone have their network-speed.xyz results page handy?

Or their yabs.sh results. Curious to know what the CPU is for the standard "Linux VPS". I see that they use an AMD Ryzen 7950X for the "Ryzen NVMe VPS" plans.

  • I haven't travelled to much of the world, but I have been to the Mayan ruins in Cozumel, and they were awesome

  • So someone has a issue with small hole patterns ? We should hope polka dots do not come back in fashion. I'll try to be more considerate in my palette postings in the future.

polkadots not so problematic I suppose...though maybe small tight patterns 🤮. lotus pods I've desensitized myself a little bit so I can just get past them without feeling too icky
