    Yes, I have actually had to deal with this once (when NexusBytes went down) and having data backed up is only one part of the story. You also need to monitor your backups - sometimes scripts can stop working, disks fill up or something. So it's important to stay on top of it

    Thanks! How do you do the 2 local (on-site) part? Get 2 x servers in the same datacentre, or is the host having RAID 10 enough? I think that article is missing a tip: "get your off-site backups with another company". Might not be relevant if you use AWS, but still worth considering I think.

    Local or cloud doesn't matter just the point with 1 offsite is that in case of something like fire that might damage both local drives you have a offsite copy that would still be unaffected you can have 2 offsites 1 local if you want make sure that both are physically seperated though so something like earthquake can't affect everything, again this is all hypothetical, but better be prepared for worse

    My dilemma is, that I have VPS there already prepaid for 3 years and I like it very much. It's a keeper. But this one is even sexier, even bigger... arrr....
