  • I purchased a 4 core 8GB VPS in Irvine yesterday, woke up this morning with my VPS and account deleted, no mention of any reason why.

I did get refunded but I would never do business with these guys ever again.

  • Got one NY - 8GB; waiting for the delivery now!!

Sorry about that! We had a security incident at Irvine and as a company we've decided to no longer host customers there. We apologize for the inconvenience.

So if you have another security incident at another location you will just delete all your customers and their VPS and just say sorry?

That's a really shitty business practice .. I wasted a few hours yesterday moving data over to have it just deleted.

It feels like there are various reasons, such as security incidents, random reasons, and they can be deleted and banned.

  • This is very eventful launch, someone that writes on LEB should probably screenshot few things here and there as this gonna be a fire material for an article in few weeks/months I guess :-D

This is definitely one of the most peculiar provider "debut" and communication I've seen thus far. I feel like LET/LEB staff might need to buck up on their due diligence and "background check" procedures on people who request provider tags.

We've had a rocky start, and initially had some scaling and abuse issues. We're addressing the issues and looking forward to a promising future serving LET/LEB.

It's extremely worrying, to say the least. Based on your own replies, you've discontinued services at your Irvine datacenter location, and at least one customer of yours, @acidpuke, has reported that their VPS was deleted, along with their account, without any sort of communication whatsoever.

Upon @acidpuke questioning you further, you simply replied that "Irvine datacenter is a special case."

As of right now, there seems to be no notice/announcement whatsoever regarding this incident. I take it that ceasing operations at an entire location and deleting customers' data at least requires an explanation, no? Do you not value your customers and their data? As a hosting provider, if you're going to go ahead and destroy your customers' data without any notice whatsoever, I feel like that at least warrants an explanation. At the bare minimum.

You should also explain when this "security incident" took place. Was it over the last 24 hours, since services at the Irvine location was apparently still available to be purchased on your website 24 hours ago? And, what sort of "security incident" took place? Was the data of customers that were previously hosted there safe, or compromised in any way?

  • I have not got the VPS yet, however, seeing this issues some of the folks, I would request refund for a service which I have not received yet. NY - 8GB is the one I choose.

Thanks everyone who shared their experiences 🙏

Our Irvine Datacenter threatened to cancel our contract due to NTP Amplification attacks. Attacks occurred between 1-4AM PST 9/20/2023 and again on 9/21/2023. We should have notified customers, however due to the nature of this attack and the things at stake, we had to act immediately. We host more than just HXServers at our Irvine Datacenter and any threat to those services is not something we can accept. We do value our customers and their data. To put it shortly, we made a mistake attempting to host customers who we don't know what their intentions are. As we are a small company, our focus was dealing with the threat at the datacenter at hand and not restricting additional orders on our ordering website. This too, was a mistake. (Although this is true, no additional customers ordered hosting at Irvine since the first attack started). The data of customers that was briefly hosted in Irvine was not compromised in any way shape or form. The server that was hosting those VPS was simply shut down. Any customer requiring their data we'd be happy to help them get it back, in a secure fashion. I hope this answers your very valid questions, and again, to our Irvine customers, the LET/LEB community, we sincerely apologize.

Sucks since Irvine was a really interesting location, but shit happens. I hope some more hosts come out with Irvine POPs soon.

  • because it's cheap, they can't afford to serve customers.
let's say there are 20-50 clients on a server with 2 gbps net? all in all a joke category.

I think they are complaining that the internet is slow, i/o or weak, there are many customers on the server, when he wrote there are 200 customers. what plane did they get on?
    if 2 data centers then 100 users/machine

I'm not sure I follow "Did you feed the dog $5". Please clarify?

"They fed the dog with $5, which is a rubbish business."

Can you please confirm or deny if this statement is true?

Yes, this person paid for a VPS as everyone does who places an order. This person also got refunded.

You didn't realize your mistake. This is just a screenshot of the order. The vps has been activated, and it was deleted and the account was blocked by you in less than 24 hours.

  • And you didn’t take the initiative to issue a refund. I went to PayPal to dispute the refund myself.

because it's cheap, they can't afford to serve customers.
let's say there are 20-50 clients on a server with 2 gbps net? all in all a joke category.

I think they are complaining that the internet is slow, i/o or weak, there are many customers on the server, when he wrote there are 200 customers. what plane did they get on?
    if 2 data centers then 100 users/machine

I doubt they have a single server per location, multiple providers massively oversell network in a similar way. For example Racknerd will have dozens of customers (sometimes over 100!) on a server with a 2gbps network port. Most people don't use the bandwidth they're assigned, so this practice is fine honestly. The unspoken rule of hosting is to oversell as much as possible without the customer noticing, and as long as the customer doesn't notice, everything is fair game.

Weren't you had DDoS protection at that location? You have mentioned that all VPS have DDoS protection at the offer description.

We're now offering Miami Florida location! Same prices, slightly different specs. Will post product page soon.

what hardware does Miami Florida use? in addition, the performance of the Los Angeles Location seems degraded a bit, whether the cpu or the network

Our Miami ordering page is now live here: https://support.hxservers.com/store/miami-vps-hosting

Miami hosts are all: AMD RYZEN 5950X with DD4 RAM.

    nice deal!

do you have any plan to support ipv6?
