What are you going to use it for? That will help decide what you need to learn the most. Linux is pretty easy until you get into Custom configurations, server setup, etc.

Books are an obsolete method for learning when it comes to things like open source software when you have the internet. Also a lot of the things could have changed by the time the book is published.
I have, like, 20 e-books on the subject...
The best one for newbies, IMHO, is Ramesh's Linux 101 Hacks. And it's free, too! Also loads of great tutorials there...
The most comprehensive one, covers everything on the subject of Linux/Unix administration imaginable, including networking and even virtualization: Unix and Linux System Administration Handbook (4th Edition). Fair warning though: this one is a bit harder read!
