Make virtualization on server with Pentium Intel core

Hi!
At first, I am absolutelly newbye in servers, but I will get a server with Intel P dual core(3.4 GHz, 4Mb cache). Can I make 2 or n3 vps on this server? So, can I do virtualizaton on it? I wait for suggestions.Thanks a lot!
Sorry for my english!

  • OpenVz Yes
    KVM (If it supports VT) Check intel site

    if VT Supported == true
    {
    Hopefully "Yes"
    }

  • If the CPU is a Pentium D 945 it does not support VT.. but does have 64 bit so you can install proxmox and use openvz virtualization.

  • Which CPU exactly is this?

  • The processor type is Intel P dual core D945, 800 FSB, 2x3,4Ghz

  • So, I think, the best way will to change the CPU to another type..

  • Yes, this CPU doesn't support hardware virtualization. you could run OpenVZ on it, but not KVM.

  • OK, thank you, dear rds100!
