I will wait until they add the same to the UK location if don't get the same results may just drop it. I was after a cheap VPS with the highest-single core. May have to keep looking or just wait until OVH add AMD 9 Ryzen 7900/7950 dedicated servers. Hetzner added AMD 9 Ryzen 79503DX many months ago. OVH used to be the first to add the newest ranges. Not so much anymore.

I use Hetzner/OVH for different reasons.

I've been waiting for ages for OVH to add AMD Ryzen 9 7900/7950.

Hetzner already added AMD Ryzen 9 7950 and recently FractionServers (UKServers) have added both AMD Ryzen 9 7900/7950 and so I will likely use them instead.

I am not sure why OVH is taking a long time to add new ranges. They used to be the first to add newer tech many years ago.

Maybe they are trying to sell all the older ranges asap before they start adding new ones. They've been constantly doing deals lately on their current services. If that's the reason then it makes sense why they're not keeping up with others as quickly.

  • JacquesJacques Member, Host Rep

Hey there, really sorry for the delay about AMD VPS availability in the UK.

Contabo has a system in place to automatically limit CPU after 24 hours of abuse seems OVH doesn't. Will see how long they take to limit it.

Things might have changed but at least earlier it was fine to use whole CPU allocation on OVH VPS solutions. I've got 8 VPS going on OVH US and never had any problems with provider side throttling or limitations related to CPU
