Geek bench score below on the 4core Located in France Gravelines, I would have gone for the 16Core one if it was in the UK.

The 4k IOPS looks slower than their current offering, but it may be a 1 off?

It seems the IOPS being limited. I have tried OVHCloud SG "VALUE". The 4k and 64k Block Size somehow similar in Total IOPS.

The Geek bench score is over 2x better than the elite one.
The 4k IOPS could be better, that's about half of the elite one.

Overall I am very happy. Just waiting for the UK side.

I agree about CPU Performance, OVH (VPS Limited Edition) uses EPYC Milan (3rd Gen) while Hetzner (CPX Lineup) uses EPYC Rome (2nd Gen), so the performance is way better on OVH Limited Edition VPS.

but about the network, i would say Hetzner is way better, because it's 10Gbps but with 20TB, while OVH offer 1-2Gbps unmetered.

You can try benchmark the network not only using iPerf, but also Ookla Speedtest. You can use Network-Speed.xyz script by @sh97

unless your running some very heavy hosting who needs 10Gb VMS

@loay said: The network and cores performance is better at OVH, this is still new so it may change soon. Here is the yabs from Hetzner (CPX21, CPX31):

I agree about CPU Performance, OVH (VPS Limited Edition) uses EPYC Milan (3rd Gen) while Hetzner (CPX Lineup) uses EPYC Rome (2nd Gen), so the performance is way better on OVH Limited Edition VPS.

but about the network, i would say Hetzner is way better, because it's 10Gbps but with 20TB, while OVH offer 1-2Gbps unmetered.

You can try benchmark the network not only using iPerf, but also Ookla Speedtest. You can use Network-Speed.xyz script by @sh97

from The Log i can see IO Disk Speed is better on Hetzner
Look on oVH it's slow...compared to Hetzner

Yes, i just about to add that. The IOPS of OVH VPS is limited. The 4k and 64k Block Size is the same Total IOPS, surely it's being limited.

is there a way to bypass this limitation? i'm tempted to get one but only if disk IOPS is not limited

Hopefully the CPU steal won't be too much

Who needs 16 CPU threads and 16 GB RAM. Why is there no option with 32 GB RAM :(

Anybody can post YABS for VLE-16 (16GB RAM) Plan?

    Hi all,
I can confirm that the offer will be available in UK soon, next week at the latest.
On top of that, we've been quite conservative on the IOPS. We'll increase the IOPS monday.
All running services will benefit from that after a simple reboot.

    Hmmm.

  • The biggest reason to be interested in trying ovh and and hetzner, among others, is that ovh offers more locations.

However, unlike hetzner, ovh's registration certification is a bit strict, and I still don't know why I couldn't successfully register, unfortunately.

2G unlimited looks like a tempting thing. I checked the official information and for OVH's S3 storage, there should be no billing for internal traffic, which is good.
