the word fascist appears in the tos!

In all fairness to @easydns, the exact quote and context of the word "fascist" is in item #7 of their TOS:

Exceptions to takedown policy and data sharing: We are fascists when it comes to net abuse and we know it when we see it. easyDNS is not a refuge for criminal or abusive activity, and we co-operate with Law Enforcement Agencies when we find net abuse on our system.

So this usage IMO doesn't disqualify easyDNS, since the context of the word "fascists" is in shutting down net abuse. Every legit provider that operates in any Western jurisdiction that has any decent laws protecting the rule of law and freedom of speech would OF COURSE want to shut down net abuse. But yet again there is very poor word choice from easyDNS. And it does continue their theme of what I personally believe is a poor attempt at humor in their choice of style of writing of their TOS.

And BTW such a writing style doesn't age very well in a post-pandemic world, so I hope the CEO/owner has a chance to reflect on this and consider a revision to the word choices. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for at least a little while until they answer what I think are even worse word choices such as "guilt-by-association" and "department of pre-crime" etc...

I mentioned previously in my long post to them earlier in this thread: "...you might see why some people might think the TOS is very poorly written, arbitrary, in some cases contradictory, and unclear, especially the parts about freedom of speech, even though I can assume that whoever wrote it was trying for a certain humorous tone." and "...may I suggest you rewrite or clarify what you really mean in your TOS? Even the NAP is arbitrary and not widely agreed upon, so maybe your TOS could use a good revision by a lawyer that has no sense of humor."

In any case, there are definitely some serious concerns in their TOS (which I explained in my long post to them above) with regard to their true stance on freedom of speech (again I refer to legal freedom of speech/press), and unless those issues are clarified (hopefully without the poor sense of humor and contradictory word choices), I would have to conclude that easyDNS is NOT a serious contender or heavyweight in defending freedom of speech principles. Again, and of course, they have a right to run their business however they want to.

Hoping @easydns will give a good response to this thread, but if not, anyone serious about freedom of speech that stumbles on this thread will have an answer anyway.

    EDIT: clarity

No response yet from @easydns - I hope they take the time to read the concerns in this thread and respond thoughtfully.
