Also, 10 gbit seems like a waste of money if you’re only pushing 20 TB.

Definitely considering it, yeah - long term whether it's current project which has been running more than 7 years, so maybe colo is the way forward.
Yeah, we don't need it 24/7 but it's nice to have.
Colo would definitely be the cost effective method here if you are looking for this long term and have the capital to fund it. Co-Location in the UK in an actual DC is around 60-100.
Another option would be approaching a dedicated server provider for an LTO, this will cost more monthly however you’ll own the hardware at the end of the term.

NL is fine, not really - ideally looking to spend about 200-300 GBP per month but not really thought about it.
