MetalVPS EX101 News!

Not_OlesNot_Oles Moderator, Patron Provider

MetalVPS now has an EX101 server. The EX101 has interesting, new hardware:

Processor

Intel® Core™ i9-13900 Processor

RAM

M324R4GA3BB0-CQK(DDR5 ECC) | DRAM | Samsung Semiconductor Global

Disk

SAMSUNG MZQL21T9HCJR-00A07 PCIe Gen 4

MetalVPS is trying to figure out what to do with the new server. It seems to perform very well! However, the EX101 costs € 89.00 per month. It would be great if we could find a way for some guys to enjoy Low End fun on the server while recovering the monthly server rent. If you have a good idea, please post here in this thread. Thank you!

Friendly greetings from New York City and Sonora, Mexico! :)

Tom

  • I wonder how these "Performance-cores" and "Efficient-cores" will act combined with a hypervisor. Can you assign only "Efficient-cores" to a VM for example?

Sorry, I don't know yet! The performance and efficient cores differences are new to me, as is the DDR5 and the PCIe Gen 4. I've not used any of these before. Eventually I will figure it out! :)

Some answers here. More and better answers might be here. Friendly greetings!

  • Create 16 Vm with 2cpu/4gb ram and sell them for $8 per month
Or 8 with 4cpu/8gb ram and sell them for $16
This will cover your expenses (including hosting and licences if needed)

2/4 will be better i think
