Looking for cheap cPanel hosting for testing

Looking for a cPanel hosting provider to use for testing purposes.

No production traffic will run on this so anything goes for spec really as long as I can have multiple (like 3 + subdomains?) domains. Email is not needed, ssh would be nice but I get that it usually costs more so no worries.

Has to be cPanel. DirectAdmin is lovely but I already have one of those, need to test cPanel quirks/differences and guide other cPanel users.

No real budget just offer the cheapest you've got. I would appreciate if you were an established provider with a good track record, unless you will let me not give you my address/etc and use something like cryptocurrency for payment. Just don't like giving my personal details to summerhosts.

If 10 month is enough I am happy to share my Racknerd account that I don't use anyway. Feel free to send me a DM. I needed it to gain access to some easy backups and also wanted to test a Billing system :) But really don't use it.

  • There are a lot of free hostings that offer cPanel. Might be enough for you to do some test.

There's a 100% chance these are both on pirated/cracked licenses.

    Interesting discovery.
I haven't thought of this before.

I can remember they are resellers of iFastNet and there are even more sites like so.
Could it be all iFastNet's downstreams having no qualified license?

It's that cPanel charges per user, no matter what.

You're paying $0.25/month/user. Are these people spending $3/year per user, for free?

It is not cPanel, but VistaPanel(iFastnet's own thing) for which the theme looks like cPanel.

    Shut my mouth then :)

But, anyone offering free cPanel based hosting is going to be pirated.

Where does either of these two sites say that their free hosting comes with cPanel?

I occasionally use @nodespace's student hosting which is free. Somehow isn't a pirated one. But does the job

  • I ended up going with @Francisco's BuyShared. I appreciate his timing :)

I believe they've always lied about this, they claim it's "VistaPanel" when in reality it's entirely cPanel iirc

Otherwise they have some really good developers

I doubt they would just finance everyone's cPanel per-user license fee.

But why lie about this if it's really cPanel?

(Unless it's not licensed, of course)

Fwiw, they've been around forever, so probably a solid free hosting pick. Then again, I remember hearing about websites being deleted without warning yada yada. But when hosting there, surely one would take backups, so..why not give it a try? You might end up learning about backup integrity in the process :)
