Done feeding the dog. I'm back.
Got some minor bad news this morning...
Since my truck has two big batteries I rotate them every year. I bought them one year ago, and went to rotate them this morning.
One was leaking where the top cover meets the body, and leaked all over the supporting plate. Now all the paint has come off and it has some minor rust. I am going to have to clean it up and repaint it and see if the place I bought the battery will replace it prorated.
These are big batteries and cost $140 each, with a 4 year guarantee. By rotating them I normally get five years out of them and having to replace one after a year is kind of disappointing.
I hope that they will replace it for 1/4th of $140 or $35 to $50 otherwise I am going to have a good battery that I can't move anywhere.
What truck is it that has two batteries?
Sounds tough but don't you get a replacement warranty for new batteries like for two years or so?
It also kind of sucks that the batteries will now be mismatched and the stronger (new) one will discharge down to the level of the older one. This means I will probably get one year less out of the new one so at best it will be $35 to $50 in the trash.
7.3 power stroke diesel. 5000 lbs of shear 4 wheel drive fun.
Theoretically I can start it on one battery but if it does not start right away the battery will drain down pretty fast.
It has a 4 year warranty but it is prorated. Normally warranties here are worth about as much as the paper they are printed on, and lots of arm twisting is required.
Hmm seems like the black company tactics.
fact, i in bed ๐
676 is a palindrome
I'll call the place I bought them at later and see what they say, but I expect I will need to go down there and threaten some form of violence to get any action. Kind of like this....
