@Ght the problem here is Ryzen. There might" be other providers using enterprise HW that might have DDoS protection that works for you. Not everyone uses Desktop HW. Should drop that requirement.

Ryzen its a requirment by me its not a problem , the problem is DDoS and Providers who dont have an idea how ddos works.

Your provider is using path. Most here use path. Certainly any provider using path will work fine for you. Location might be the issue. I think path itself has a hosting company, tempest hosting is it?

I have tried an x provider here that uses Path but they failed to protect me for some reason.

Yep, I know @VibeGAMES and actually have a nice VPS there, and yes again, their support is quite fast and good albeit via discord (which I do not like at all).
Normally I wouldn't even look at gaming-focused providers (just not my world) but I came there via finalhosting / @jordynegen11 and am quite happy with my VPS there.

As for "(some?) other providers using path offer less/worse protection" my guess would be that vibegames have put in some extra work; wouldn't be uncommon for a decent game provider I guess, but I can't say with certainty because while I not notice that they have anti-DDOS I didn't care a lot and hence don't know details.

By default path doesn’t have any application filters in place. They do have some detection systems that can guess at what you’re hosting, but the best way to use path is to have the application filter designed for your app to be applied.

The next issue you might have is internal attacks, where people buy services from the same host as you and then do internal attacks. This will bypass path as path isn’t involved in that traffic.

In that case you just need a host that can spot the traffic or read a PCAP if you provide it.

Yep, that's Path's standard filtering list.

What I'm saying is that the hosts that you did have issues probably didn't have a filter enabled for you.

the question is: is path recommended and reliable?

Credit where it’s due, they do seem to be at the top of their game in terms of providing what they sell.

They are fairly good, like really good but yeah, their actions don't allow me to use their services - I really wish Path was sold and the management changed.

    • their interface where you can choose a custom filter looks pretty cool. Wish I had money to start cloudflare 2.0

Well, you are right if this is your option of them from using their services. But, I am so sure of that of VPS services provided by somehostingcompany.com
