If we ever get to inhabit Mars, a new year would be after every 687 earth days.
For Neptune which takes 165 earth years to complete one revolution most wouldn't be able to celebrate a new year in their lifetime.
We will go by the earth calendar since these holidays originated on earth. That means Mars people may celebrate the new year when people on earth celebrate.

Quite likely but the seasons would be off then if Mars does have periodical seasons similar to Earth.
Why people want to live on Mars, Mars might be a good place to visit, but live there is another story.

I have always thought living on Mars was an odd thing to think could be currently viable. Earth is a unique place in our solar system for human life to survive. Thanks to Earths magnetic fields and the Van Allen belts life here is protected from the Cosmic radiation that abounds in space and creates a hostile environment for human life. Observations from the ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter indicate that a 6-month mission to Mars would imply a radiation dose equal to 60% of the limit which is commonly recommended for the full career of an astronaut. Without major technological leaps in shielding strategies, intrinsic or induced biological resilience to space radiation chronic exposure will probably be among the crucial factors to decide about risk acceptability of deep space exploration.
