The servers in the data centre
Work hard all year, without a doubt
    But on this special night
They're allowed to take a break and celebrate right
As they ring in the new year with all their might

So I should expect a lot of downtime tonight ? Is that what you are saying ?

To celebrate, we need to feed the servers food, wine, after that, they will work even harder :D

And lots of oil for the moving parts

What kind of oil, the ones you buy in ()?

Any oil that could help ease the friction of those fans. Or maybe grease

Yoursunny recommends lube for computer fans. For a while he was all after a provider that shall remain nameless to send him a tub of it for his fans. Said it lasted real long time.

Maybe he’s using it for his joints to help take more push-ups

What kind of videos do you watch so you believe people can do push up using that?

Lol why words of wisdom when normal words are wise enough

Dustin has asked me to do it so I don't want to disappoint him.

@amess said: Oh on, better not. I don't want to die in 2023.

    >
Feeling this political situation, in 2023 I am more inclined to study abroad than in my own country or this country

I am studying in another country now. It's a shame to go back home with empty hands, so I hope 2023 can be better.

I am always curious where the people I am talking to are from, and where they are now. I think it helps me to understand other cultures better and to sometimes see the things that we have in common. So if you would like to tell me I would appreciate it, if not I completely understand.

    From Minsk, now in Beijing.

For me that is a real interesting move.
How do you like China ?
What do you as an outsider find the most interesting aspect of living there ?
I expect that you speak reasonably good Chinese. How do people react when you speak to them in Chinese ? My son speaks a fair amount of Mandarin and it is very interesting the reactions that Chinese people have when he speaks to them in Chinese. Is it the same there ?

Maybe for a girl like me who stays at home...shared bikes and food delivery are very developed, even when you need urgent medicine, you can get it from the nearest online pharmacy after 15 minutes of placing an order online.. .
In China, it is not surprising that you speak fluent Chinese. Many people even think that in China, you should speak Chinese, and everyone speaks Chinese.

And I wonder what are you doing in China, Beijing is the least city in China that suffers from lockdown, or you just enjoy staying inside?

There are too many lockdowns this year...Although I do enjoy staying in my room, it gives me a little sense of security...But to be clear, I prefer face-to-face classes

Lol, I lived in Beijing for 6 months in 2020 - 2021, don't know the situation now, but my friends in Beijing told me their life wasn't affected, much.

    And China is open now.

What do you study in Beijing? If I am allowed to ask.

I'm in high school now and I'm going to college next year

Oh wait, will you attend Chinese gaokao?

I will attend and at the same time i will check if my application is accepted. If I can get an offer from any university, the gaokao score will be a piece of paper. I have no plans to study in China at the moment, but if no other university offers me an offer , then I will use my gaokao score to go to a Chinese university

    Good luck

    thanks

Just curious, do you speak Chinese? As a foreigner in China, do you get special test papers?

I can speak Chinese, but my Chinese score is slightly worse, but the difference is not much, and as far as I know, our school only has one set of test papers, which are in Chinese, and the papers I wrote are also in Chinese

Not tonight but on new year eve

Depending on time zone that could be a long downtime. :)

24 hours at most, 1/365(366) of a year.

I think people would be jumping off buildings here if they were down for 24 hours.

Jumping off buildings is not a good way to celebrate earth day. Do they have other ways to celebrate?

People here are stuck in their phones constantly. It is like they can no longer interact directly. It used to be a very polite society where every time you passed someone you said good morning, day, or evening to them. Now all faces are in phones and they don't see you when they walk by. If the phone stop working it would be chaos.

Next step in evolution would be neck bend downwards

Talking about evolutions, do you believe VS/AR is the future?

Maybe. I don’t use those enough to form an opinion

The servers in the data centre
Work hard all year, without a doubt
    But on this special night
They're allowed to take a break and celebrate right
As they ring in the new year with all their might

So I should expect a lot of downtime tonight ? Is that what you are saying ?

Not tonight but on new year eve

Depending on time zone that could be a long downtime. :)

You remind me of the small town I grow up when people don't use cell phones or internet.

People are nice to each other back then.

I do not have a smart phone and I just recently upgraded my land line from a rotary phone to one with buttons for numbers. So what can I say.

You have so many servers but not a smartphone  , but rotary phones are interesting.
